Just ventured out for some food and happened to find one lone Sheik at Meijer. Today has been very good to me. I managed to get all the ones I wanted.

I was able to get a Rosalina and Toon link from my local Target!!! I was 5th in line but I kid you not the first guy in line was a bloody scalper... he had two big empty bags all ready to get the entire lot of Rosalinas!!! Thank god that Target limited it one person!!! I had a big smile on my face when he got to the register and was able to get only one Rosalina for him to scalp.

I wish the web would update and show that. I was all around pueblo and springs this morning and nothing. Seen 2 being walked out by some older lady. Not sure if for kids or ebay but that was all the new ones I had seen. None aside from bowser even on the shelf as the store opened down here.

I live in Chicago, and it's snowy and cold as hell today. Even so, I got up at 7am and took a 45 minute train ride to downtown. I get to the Amiibo section, and my heart sank - nothing but the usual Mario/Luigi/Peach/DK suspects. I dejectedly go to the counter and ask when they expect Wave 3 to come in...
"All we got for today was Rosalina. We still have some behind the counter if you want her."

SUCCESS, I think to myself. The clerk said there was a line when the store opened for Rosalina hunters, but no matter - I got one.
Onto the next stop!
Toys R Us. Bowser was the only wave 3 they had. I again asked the clerk about their store's status, and he said they only had enough wave 3 shipments to cover pre-orders. He also said Mega Man was delayed until the 20th because Nintendo decided to reprint Lucario due to demand (who knows if that's true).
Target again. No wave 3. I was going to try and snag an extra Rosalina for my sister, but the guy said the morning manager fucked up and allowed people to buy UP TO TEN ROSALINA'S, so their stock went fast.
GameStop said they were getting in their Wave 3s on the 13th (sans Mega Man and Sonic, due the 20th), but he was unsure if they would get more than what their pre-orders covered.
I ended up buying Diddy, Zelda, and Link as consolation prizes - but the only FRESH amiibo I scored was Rosie. I count myself lucky for that for sure, but I really wanted Toon Link and Shiek as well - after almost getting frost bite on my neck and soaking through my clothes in the frigid weather for hours, I expected a bigger return on the effort I put in to hunt these bastards down.
So again I will say to NoA: "I sincerely wish I knew how to quit you, but I don't - so please take the onus upon yourself and fuck off for me"

Man... you know looking back, the one we went to really screwed up towards the end. We were literally like 10 steps away from the counter and then people behind us were like "LET'S PANIC" which essentially threw things out of order. Heck I was originally behind you but somehow that girl got snuck inbetween. Luckily I saw there were still enough stock so I just let it go but if it wasn't for those behind us that started to panic and step up the pace, things would have gone better and that woman probably would have gotten Shiek.

Everyone, I have discovered a horrible truth about the Rosalina Amiibo:
All in all, really happy with my new Rosalina and Yoshi Amiibos. Yoshi has a weird painting issue but whatever, still high quality. Rosalina's skirt feels like it'll break or something with the way its laid out lol. Also sad that theres no galaxy under it. :/
She only has one eye. D:

Ebay's fees are too damn high. I wanted to flip my Majora's Mask N3DS XL that I might not pick up on there, but I'd have to sell it way higher than I should to see any reasonable profit.

So, i have an awesome story to share from today. I got to my target around 7am, and only had a couple of other cars around. Eventually, after a few more rolled in, one person finally went to wait, and then we all exited and decided it was time to form the line. Everyone was super nice, though a few seemed like they were gunning to get a few Rosalinas, but no one seemed like they would get more then 3 at most, so no crazy shit.
Well, the guy ahead of me in line, name was Rob, and i got talking about anime and Smash mains, and we both kind of hung at the store chatting a bit. The Target i was at was great. Every amiibo they got in was on the counter, they kept a line, 1 per customer, and checked you out right there at electronics, so everyone was happy.
So after this, we decided to head to another Target to hopefully nab one extra for whatever purpose, and manage to do well at that Target as well, so now we were content, and this guy knew i was killing time before i went to meet with some friends, so he invited me over for some Smash. We hung out for a couple hours talking fighting games and anime, and it was super great. Before i left, he asked how much i wanted Little Mac, which kind of threw me off, since we had only talked about holes in our collection for a minute or two. I tell him he is my sought after figure, such on, and he reaches into a case he has, and pulls out an open one. He says "Throw me what i paid for it, and its yours. I've had an extra for a bit, but i'd rather it go to someone super passionate then just hang on to it, i've got good trade fodder already".
So, not only did i make an awesome new friend today, I FINALLY GOT LITTLE MAC, FOR RETAIL PRICE!
Seriously, this is the best day i've ever had with Amiibos. I'm so happy right now.

I think I am too, at least if/when I receive my Lucario and Rosalina from my online orders. I'll limit myself to my weekly strolls to Nintendo World to see what they have, but I'm not going nuts anymore trying to get to a store on release day.
I was able to get a Toon Link from Best Buy without a pre-order. I got there a little before 11am and there were a few people standing in front. Then more people came and I got nervous. A few of us ran to the Amiibo section, but it was empty. The associate had to get them from the back. It took him about 10 minutes.
