I was definitely one of those looking for Mega Man, and I'm so glad I got him!

Btw, seems you're new here, so I wanted to welcome you to amiiboGAF! I think you'll find things are pretty cool around here, so I hope you enjoy your time posting!
 
my store had 1 ike, 2 king dedede, 4 mega, 4 sonic
1 per customer, not 1 of each
i was first in line, gf was second, i bought ike and she got king dedede (for me)
i heard someone say that they missed rosalina and its the only one i have 2 of and he said hed trade sonic for it but i cant give into that yet, i feel as if sonic is the soon to be common of wave 3. based on everyone elses results here and reddit, i feel as if i won more than half the battle of wave 3b, megaman and sonic shall come next week i suppose, if not walmart is always a last resort

No. Sonic was supposed to come out today. Still hasn't shipped.

I'm actually getting really tired of Best Buys crap. I'm elite plus. They cancelled my XL order, but people who ordered 10 got to keep 1. I did express shipping on everything, but everything is being shipped UPS Ground. I've already told them, anything I can go buy from Gamestop or elsewhere today, I'm gonna go buy from them. Best Buy used to have great customer service and shipped things very punctually... not anymore.
 
Went to TRU nearly an hour before opening and was still 18th in line... Even with a 1 amiibo per customer limit (not 1 per character, 1 period) they still sold through every new one by #16... Only got 2 Dededes and zero Ikes too...
 
Wow so no Wave 4 news yet? Nintendo is either getting their sh** together in order to manage the stock issues better or they are just making deals with each retail on the US and make each figure of Wave 4 an exclusive with different release dates and only making like, 5 copies of each figure with no more re-stock ever. Hopefully is the former.

Even so, I'd be more than a little aggravated if they said you couldn't get at least 1 of each. That makes no sense.
You've been waiting in line for hours (some in the freezing cold) and you can only pick one amiibo?

The way my TRU had it set up was since there were 8 megaman, 4 sonic, 2 dedede and 1 Ike, he handed out 8 slips and that pretty much guaranteed those people walking out with at LEAST 1 of those amiibo.
I got one of each, except Ike. The person in front of me got all 4, 1 of each.

The TRU manager was really cool about everything. He was constantly coming out and updating people that were arriving on what the scenario was.

Probably the best experience I've had lining up before

someone on reddit showed a line at 5am at TRU, if valid or not i have no idea but it just made me say hey im going to go at 8am instead of 8:30. the manager came out and said are u an associate? we dont open until 10. she came back around 8:30 and said what are you waiting for? there was no ticket system (i saw those which were awesome) but i also saw someone say it was only valid the first 10mins which wasnt told to them and they didnt get what their ticket promised anyways. yea i said "one of each" "no one per customer" most people left empty handed, i heard alot of "i love ike etc"

i heard this at target for 1 per customer so i picked sheik(only had 2) and told my gf to buy rosalina, foundout it was 1 of each per customer there and missed out on the toon link at the time too lol, ended up getting that last week though

tl;dr im pre ordering everything from now on, just thankful i pre ordered shulk and imported metaknight

Don't have any extra stores like Fred Meyers in my area that also stock Amiibo. Just the major chains. And yeah, even where I was I felt like my toes were going to fall off along with my earlobes. Really wish I brought a hat. A bit before the TRU opened a guy without a jacket and not wearing gloves came up and I didn't know how he could take it. Was both cold and windy.

My Megaman has some messed up paint by his waist. Light blue dipping down too low and dark blue going up to high in one area. Really not bad enough to complain though. Really want to try to switch my Toon Link out. Grabbed him real fast to not hold up the line so didn't get to inspect him and the sword where his hand is holding it is all skin color.

I wounder how many even along collectors care about the paint this much...

Edit: Dammit, double post, meant to edit it into the last one but hit submit instinctively.

i intentionally only drank a cup of coffee and made sure i didnt have fluid intake this morning so i would be mildy dehydrated because i knew i couldnt use the bathroom until after the store opened.
20mins into the camp i had to use the bathroom, the cold is ok, how people hold their pee for 2hrs+ is beyond me

Mine on Wednesday JUST opened the box that contained Ike, Dedede, & Mega Man (I didn't see about Sonic but I'm sure he was there) because I had asked about it, but I was at Meijer this morning & to no surprise, they were sold out.
 
Worth mentioning to anyone who might have them in their area, but it seems a lot of Meijer stores got the rest of wave 3 in this week as well. I picked up Mega Man, Dedede, and Ike from there on Wednesday.

Another regional store to check if you have them is Fred Meyer.
 
I truly don't get the one amiibo (regardless of character) per person. That's overdoing the battle against scalping. They're different SKUs and should be treated as such!

Yeah that does sound odd. I am happy that it seems that every store around where I live is now limiting people to 1 of each on new releases and such.

Lol, was right in the middle of PMing you instructions on how to post images, but seems you got it. Grats on the new3ds. People at the TRU I was waiting at were talking about it being even worse trying to get it at the Target when it opened.
 
Big waste today none of the local stores got any of the new ones today. That said scored a second Shulk from GameStop via in store order (which is still open folks)

15$. Unreal, and you're right, that will add up fast. I'm heading to Walmart in a little bit, someone at Target this AM told me they had some there for cheap, knockoffs I'm sure, but really, how advanced do you need to be if you're just transferring power into a device? Not like I'm buying a knockoff controller or anything.

they probably have a warranty if you use a third party charger it nulls the warranty lol

I just don't have the money for one right now, but I had one in my cart on Target.com this morning so at least there was a shot at getting it.

Seems like 5am is very exaggerated lol. Unless people were waiting for MM 3dsXls as well.
 
No problem getting a New 3DS today, but I did preorder it at GS a couple weeks back, so that's not really a surprise. No Dedede there today but I got Mega Man from Amazon yesterday so I'm good for a long while, or whenever the king drops.

Nintendo does that with all direct Mario games it seems. The red case I mean. Just not to all copies of them for whatever reason. I've bought 2 of the same game from amazon (gifts for different people) and one came with the red case and the other didn't.
