Amiibo Thread 3 | Where release dates are made up and preorders don't matter!

I hate craigslist.
Yesterday I made a deal with a guy to trade my sonic and Ike for his Rosalina and $13.
We planned to meet this morning.
And now he is backing out.

I want Rosalina!!! ;(

Your best option for trades are probably going to stores on release day. There are a few people willing to do trades right there. Just be safe in your trades :)

Had my first experience going into GameStop to try and get a Shulk, and the guy told me they're preorder only...

I'm never gonna find one, thought there would be more availability since you can use it with Xenoblade 3D

Anyone know if most Gamestops are completely done with Shulk pre-orders that ship in May? Just curious. I managed to pre-order mine yesterday morning.

I'm still amazed on how much they nailed the Shulk Amiibo. They literally got every detail, & my Monado isn't even bent. How could the production crew get Shulk so right yet they screw up the Fire Emblem cast with Derp Marth & Ike with his eyes too far apart?

They were basically preorder only. However, right after release, they offered another preorder for another round of Shulk's tentatively dated 5/1/2015, probably to coincide with the 3DS Xenoblade release. There were Web in Store preorders available (where you preorder at a GameStop store) and preorders on their website accessible from home or a mobile device. The website preorders are already filled, but I thought someone said WIS preorders were still available. Personally, I preordered from home, but I was tempted to go to a store to do a WIS just to make sure I secure one, don't think I'm going to do that though.

Just wanted to say MADGAME is so freakin' awesome! Went above and beyond to help me attain WFT :)

So earlier we got into a discussion of whether Shiek was a good looking Amiibo or not. Go figure people have different opinions! It got me thinking about if there is a popular consensus for top and bottom 5s. So I took all of mine down and ranked them. It took longer than I thought and I am pretty sure I lost some serious cool points with my wife ha. Some are difficult (Pikachu and Kirby) because they are such simple designs but they are perfect.

It is a slow Amiibo day so I propose if you have time ranking your collection from top to bottom. If we get enough I will enter them in excel and come up with some results if you all want. I positioned mine on their displays to reflect my rankings. Plus it made it easier to compare figures and adjust.

1 Shulk

LIST

While I couldn't do a list cause I haven't seen them all in person, I don't think Sheik is that bad to be honest, not the best that I have seen, but kind of middle of the pack. I do think she looks great next to my Link and Zelda though. Can not wait to get Ganon to finish the pack.

I'm thinking of jumping on the Amiibo bandwagon now I've got my new 3DS. Tempted to get Link but Toon Link looks better. Which would you guys recommend? I'll probably get both eventually to sit next to my Skull Kid.

I haven't got my hands on all of them but right now

1. Kirby
2. Samus
3. Captain Falcon
4. Fox
5. Little Mac
6. Princess Peach
7. Pit
8. Rosalina
9.Shulk
10. Bowser
11. Zelda
12. Link

Zelda and Rosalina would have ranked higher if they didn't have such fat fingers and Rosalina's wand wasn't painted poorly

Oye this is tough, temped to put Ike and Marth higher; mine aren't really derpy and the paint applications on the rest of the body are great. Marth also has no stand, which is key in my rankings.

2. Bowser

Hmm, got an email from Play-Asia about their amiibo situation:

Once again, it is a sad moment for us to share with you that we are unable to fulfill any orders for the US region amiibos. Because of the supply shortage from Nintendo, we regret having to inform you that all pre-orders right now are on hold and are on back-ordered status.

Unlike other major American retailers, we have not yet canceled any orders, only because we have been seeking new suppliers from Australia and the United Kingdom, as they have expressed to us that there is a possibility of being able to get these coveted region free figurines.

And like other retailers, Nintendo never gave us an indication that the stock levels would be so dangerously low, and we only opened pre-orders under the guarantee from our previous suppliers that we would be able to get them. As such, recent updates have left things in the current state; despite this, we are always trying our best to honor our customers' needs.

Still no PR from Nintendo on stock levels, right? Not even a "we goofed up and there will be more eventually" type thing? Because if they're at the point where retailers are not even able to fill preorders, then it seems like this is more and more firmly the result of terrible planning and less a result of trying to create artificial demand.

I've heard business owners describe the multiple months of lead time needed to work with overseas factories as the single biggest reason to manufacture stuff domestically. I wonder if that's what wrecked the amiibo situation...

...what happened to Fox Amiibo on Best Buy site ?

It was there monday but now it doesn't even appear as sold out O.o

Fox has been getting rarer for a while. Maybe they've given up on receiving a restock.

So...how about that Rayman leak? If its real what will his amiibo look like?

OT: So I saw a single Fox and a bunch of Samuses at Best Buy today. Also saw a myriad of ultra rare Peaches.

Got a Sheik yesterday. I was surprised to find 3 of them on the bottom rack of the amiibo display at my local Walmart. Had to grab her while I had the chance, she's not at bad looking amiibo.

Actually, not necessarily. Look at this, we've been proven wrong:

Yeah, but it's going to be based on the character select render.

I really don't see how it will work without tons of plastic after seeing it. His hands are clearly separated from his body there unlike the one you posted. And won't have a skillfully used support pole like that figure or the Infinity figures.

Yeah, but you have to admit, it's pretty cleverly done, using the disembodied pieces attached to the pole and head/torso. I never thought a Rayman figure would be possible, yet there it is.

But yes, the in-game render probably won't be made with that in mind. Bring on the transparent bases!
