Snuggler said:No, but it's meant to be played on a keyboard. Frantically opening and closing doors wouldn't feel the same with analog sticks.
I would love if they put this on XBLA or something, I think you could make that mechanic work if you had a "Grab" button and then you could use the Right analog stick to push or pull the door with up and down on the thumbstick.Gvaz said:Yeah doors are analogue controlled so you could do it technically but it'd be not nearly as interactive.
Seriously, not every game needs gamepad support. Just use the damn keyboard mouse like a normal person.
Foliorum Viridum said:Haha. It's impressive the kid avoided a penis before the Sanctum, there's a whole lotta man junk in this game.

Especially when they want to play Amnesia. There's pretty much nothing PC needs more than a sense of open, welcoming friendliness.
Opiate said:Sometimes I wonder why all people who label themselves "hardcore" gamers aren't PC gamers. Then, I see things like this.
First, we ridicule people for not gaming on the PC. Then, if they do start gaming on the PC, we ridicule them if they don't use the form factor we prefer (i.e. desktop).
To answer your question, GVaz: Laptops can do things desktops cannot. Turn off the game, and suddenly you have a perfectly functional device to take to your office or to your class.
Yes, the tradeoff to these added functions is that his system likely won't be as powerful (although it could easily best PS3/360, for example). But rather than complain about how his choice of PC doesn't fit our ideal, let's welcome him to the PC Gaming team. There's pretty much nothing PC needs more than a sense of open, welcoming friendliness.

Snuggler said:It's taking me much longer than it should, although I'm pretty sure I'm nearing the end. It's a damn good game but it really does take a toll on your sanity. I've had a lot of sessions that lasted about 10 minutes before I bailed out because it was just too intense for the moment. That being said, I think I'll try to power through it tonight in light of the news about this Justine thing.
Interested in this possible new campaign. I'm at work so it would be nice if someone could investigate that further.
Yes mastertheinfinityissue said:If you are a rabid Amnesia fan, stop what you are doing this second and go to it. Stop reading this, go, now.
It is part of the PotatoFools ARG, there is a little information on the site of the developers but very unclear. It happens with a lot of games a few minutes ago.Snuggler said:Wow, a new campaign just slips in like that? I'd make a new thread for the news but I can't find a single article about it, even on Frictional's site.

Looks like it has something to do with this Valve/Potato thing.

A new set of straightforward "trial rooms", as the game describes it. Sort of evokes Portal in that regard, especially due to the new narrator.Zenith said:Can someone describe the new content?

I personally had no issue with the controls for those parts, and I'm generally terrible at making jumps with kb/m in first-person games. Regardless, two things to note:Ben2749 said:I just played the demo, and I got to the part where you have to try and stay out of the water. I died twice because the controls and camera are terrible for making precise jumps onto tiny crates. It's also not helped by the fact that some of the crates are too far apart to jump, so you have to go into the water briefly, and hope you aren't killed. Oh, and you have to do this quickly, because you need to get through a door on time.
Sorry, but if this is the experience I'm confronted with only 10 minutes into the demo, I've lost all interest. I can't remember the last time I had to fight the controls and mechanics of a game so much.
