This is the second E3 I'm gonna watch, so since last year's was GOAT, here are my hopes/predictions:
Sony:
- GOW IV, out next year (guessing fall)
- Rogue galaxy 2 collab with Level-5 (just now playing first one, it is GREAT!) or other Level-5 collab (I believe in you, Verendus!)
- Uncharted IV story DLC
- Horizon: ZD demo and release date (some exploration features culminating in a kind of boss battle (like thunderjaw) and a 2016 date is what I expect)
- Sony Bend (never played anything by them, so wonder what they can do)
- FFVIIR gameplay + release year first installment, followed later in the week by price bomb of $60/€60 per installment
(though probably not surprising)
- No Man's Sky shows up with an oddly out of place story trailer like last year at PGW
- PS4K revealed, is not a system with improvements to regular games, PS4 or PSVR (just not feeling that Sony would take such a giant risk, despite what numerous sources claim), instead only 4k video capabilities and maybe PS2 emulation benefit from the new hardware
- GT Sport release date holiday 2016, beta coming soon after E3
- The last guardian shows gameplay, and gives a definitive release date (I literally do not know where to place this game on the calendar)
- PSVR showcases for roughly 20 minutes, and shows nothing that does not seem gimmicky to the uninitiated (i.e. who have not tried it yet)
- Shawn Layden comes on stage, wearing another teaser as a shirt, while announcing Crash Bandicoot (Believe!)
Bethesda:
- Dishonored 2 for 2017
- Fallout 4 DLC plans for 2016 and beyond (I expect 3 bigger packs comparable to or slightly smaller than Far Harbor: they'd better for that ridiculous price hike)
- No Elder Scrolls 6, teased or revealed (sad but completely understandable: would only take away from Fallout 4 and ESO and is probably nowhere near even a sneak peek showing yet)
- New Wolfenstein game (a great may 2017 game?)
Square Enix:
- Nier Automata (release date Fall 2016, still not committing to either PS4 exclusivity or PC version)
- Same trailer and info on FFVIIR as Sony conference (WTF Square?)
- E3 push trailer for I am Setsuna (gameplay with narration probably)
- Kingdom Hearts III release date (2018 earliest I feel)
- FFXV gets long trailer (more than five minutes) and a new demo with full length actual gameplay available
- Square has no confidence in Western desire for DQXI, and does not show it again until TGS 2016
- Star ocean V has a large presence, to bump awareness before July 1st release date
Nintendo:
- NX revealed: power very comparable to current gen, gimmicky controller, out this fall
- Zelda makes me seriously consider getting a nintendo platform to relive my Twilight Princess moments from youth (quite nostalgic for that game), launch game
- Stunner: Fire Emblem for console? (absolutely loved Path of Radiance on Gamecube, wish it happened again)
- some kind of pokémon game for the NX (of course not a turn-based handheld style one, perhaps some Pokken-inspired real-time pokémon battle rpg? LOL if only...)
Microsoft:
- Recore release date: august/ early september 2016
- Scalebound gameplay without the framerate problems
- Gears of 4 shows combat footage, reconfirms release date of October 11 2016
- Forza Horizon 3, no surprises
- Cuphead shown, no firm release date
- Crackdown 3 multiplayer showing
- Halo wars 2 gets short gameplay trailer and early september release date (out of the way of Gears of 4)
- UWP released basic features like V-sync, but introduces new game-breaking issues with that
- All games shown, indie or AAA, are also available on PC day 1
EA:
- Mass Effect Andromeda gameplay, stuns everyone with (PC) visuals
Expect great showings all around, hope for some more surprises (Persona 5, where art thou?) to occur.
