12 episode season starting August 31st. I know a lot of folks are like "who gives a shit about this character" but the fact is Rogue One was easily the best Disney-related star wars thing. So I'm actually interested.
What the hell is this even about? Trailer looked great visually, but I have no idea what is happening.
Im surprised by all the love RO gets on this site compared to other movies. I love RO but it fails on making me care about the characters. Even their deaths are so lacklustre. My only 2 real complaints. Visually amazing overall though.
There’s a really easy solution to your problem which requires zero effort on your partStar Wars used to be an event, a rare treat. Now we are being force-fed all these shows non-stop.
Mandalorian was a fun ride, but when Book of Boba came out, I was already exhausted. This?
Who wants to watch a whole series about a character nobody gives a crap about based on a depressing, middling spin-off movie that merely found average success because the main movies were so terrible in comparison?
I don't watch Star Wars for its "spy thriller'esque" qualities.
It's simply a matter of them already figuring out how laser blasts and light swords have worked for years now. For Marvel whenever they have to do full body CG like Hulk and She Hulk it comes with a ton of caveats and challenges. Most Captain America movies looked so good because it's essentially just a soldier with a shield in espionage situations.Looks amazing. I’m glad Disney doesn’t half ass the cgi with its Star Wars shows.
who the fuck is cassian andor? this should have been a kyle katarn show and it would automatically be 100x more interesting
You do realise that Lucas milked the Star Wars cow to hell and back as well right? He just didn't have the foresight that Disney had to try and make TV shows about the universe. But in all honesty, when he owned Star Wars, TV shows weren't quite the same standard as what we get these days.
Hell he hired writers and had 50 scripts written for a TV show. But back then TV show VFX was nowhere near to what it is today and they couldn't realistically make a Star Wars show then. Those scripts are being repurposed into the new stuff now.
And at the moment, Disney+ is firing on all cylinders. When Disney+ first people complained that there was no content, now they'll complain that they are milking cows with their properties. Disney can't win with some people.
Obi-Wan, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Andor, Willow. Is Mando S3 coming out this year as well?
Mando is February, then Ahsoka is after it likely in May. 2023 is Mando S3, Ahsoka S1, Skeleton Crew, then Andor S2.
Ahsoka is filming now, Skeleton Crew starts in the fall, then Andor S2.

Who the hell asked for this?
Nothing like SW?The only reason this looks "good" is because it looks nothing like Star Wars, also it is Disney so they are going to fuck it up somehow. Garbage franchise.
I have no idea what you're talking about, all Lucas did was 3 mediocre movies after the original ones, on the other hand Disney has bombarded us with an onslaught of Star Wars crap for years now.
Do you know how many books, comics and merchandise was churned out under Lucas? He was planning to do movies 7-9 as well until fans ripped out his heart and demoralised him.
And when technology was up to standard he did the Clone Wars cartoon.
The books comics and merchandise are the standard and are spammed by Disney as well. Only Star Wars super nerds care about those anyway, the point is that between the end of the original trilogy in 1983 and 2012 Lucas had only produced three movies. It's been 10 years since then and Disney has spammed us with countless mediocre trash milking the franchise to death. That just 10 years compared to the 20 it took for Lucas to make 3 movies. Imagine even trying to compare the two, absolutely ridiculous.
Its true that it has been milked and mediocre, but we should judge Andor on its own merits when it releases. The spamming of Star Trek shit in the 90s didn't make Deep Space Nine any less brilliant. This can be a good show.
Lol...whats with the AK-47s.
Just can't get interested in this or any Star Wars projects anymore. TLJ and RoS just really ruined the whole thing for me.
I think you hit the nail on the head on how I felt watching the latest Thor trailer. It's just almost pure comedy at this point. Typical trailer, start with some humor, introduce villain, end with bland CGI fighty, fight and maybe another wink to end it all. Rinse. Repeat. If Star Trek had spammed us with a bunch of mediocre crap I'd be very suspicious of Deep Space Nine too like I am of Star Wars now or, you know, modern Star Trek. Not to mention it's not just the franchise, it's the company that uses it, Disney has been milking franchises and making products like they it's a fucking factory for years now. It's the usual Disney recipe of inoffensive and bland characters, storytelling and action, terrible comedy that is used to make light of any situation no matter how dire it is so that the viewer doesn't get upset too much and forgettable story that is only used as a medium for getting to the next CGI-fest action scene. I am genuinely sick and tired of that recipe and the awful cynicism with which Disney applies the recipe to almost every product of theirs the last 10 years.
