Wth??
I wanted to buy Asphalt but it gave me an error. Checked and wth. 50% of Gamelofts library is not in the marketplace app despite being up on the android market website. What's going on?? :-(

Some pretty cool apps out there, but I refuse to download anything that reads my phone's identity or something fishy like that. Seriously, some of these accesses are blatantly bad like making direct phone calls using your phone. WTF?!

The marketplace does filter by phone and if they determine your phone won't support the app it will not show in the marketplace app itself while it will list on the website. For example I see Battleheart on the website https://market.android.com/details?id=com.KelliNoda.Battleheart&feature=top-paid but when I check the app its not listed becasue my phone is not supported for it.

Yeah, always read the permissions before downloading and think "why would this app need this function". Pretty much no game is going to need to be able to access your phone calls or texts for legitimate reasons. I also tend to avoid ones that can access your "fine gps" because that's creepy, even though they likely just use it as part of their ad serving.

Any word on TamaDroid? It's a Tamagotchi remake that looks to near perfectly emulate the original but with droid additions like notifications.

Thought I'd give this a bump. I'm still on the fence about getting it.

Any word on whether the Android Market is getting Plants vs. Zombies or other currently Amazon Appstore-exclusive Popcap games?

The fakenamegenerator.com method did not work for me (in Canada). It must have somehow detected my Canadian IP and blocked it.

Im getting kind of annoyed about how google seems to do nothing to bring more quality stuff to android. Porting games is cheap, they could fund some ports of big games.

After that I finagled a Galaxy on Fire 2 demo onto my non-Tegra Epic. Once again, blown away by the quality of 3D these things are capable of. Also not a bad game either.

Really interested in this one. I also have an Epic...how did it run for you? Silky smooth?

A free version of Tetris is out:

Buuut... how much do you trust EA?

THIS APPLICATION HAS ACCESS TO THE FOLLOWING:

SERVICES THAT COST YOU MONEY

DIRECTLY CALL PHONE NUMBERS
Allows the application to call phone numbers without your intervention. Malicious applications may cause unexpected calls on your phone bill. Note that this does not allow the application to call emergency numbers.

I'm totally loving Robotek. I have it on my tablet and my phone. Anyone know is there's any way to link my tablet account/career to my phone? (I spent some $$$ on coins to upgrade my mainframe). Thanks!

What are some good turn-based strategy/tactics games that are out for Android? I figure that genre is perfect for touch controls, and it's one of my favorite genres anyway. I already know about the recently released Battle for Wesnoth port.

Settlers of Catan is pretty swell on mobile.

There's a Transformers game that's just like Advance Wars in the Amazon market.

Game Dev Story appears to now have limited time free version on the Market hat lets you play for four years rather than two in the lite version

Tried to buy Spymouse the other day, had server errors from the android market, no wonder the ios market is better grrrr and where are the awesome games like infinity blade

I don't even see it in the app market

Any good turn-based RPGs on Android (not roguelike)? I've already got Gailardia and Gurk, I'm just surprised and saddened by the apparent lack of these type of games on the platform (especially since they would work great on a touch screen, as opposed to action RPGs).

tempted by spy mouse but then see it has 1 star on the store... is it broken on android?
Tried to buy it, but had server errors

Most likely a fake, this is why the ios store is so much better

Odd D-toid reported that it would be $5, maybe it hasn't updated the price yet?

edit: yeah when you search for it on the market place it's $5. Whoo!! insta-buy!

Amazon paid for exclusives like ad free angry birds and all the popcap games.

O2Jam Analog is a great game for anyone who's a fan of the DJMax/O2Jam/Beatmania series. I I belive it's only out on the Korean market right now but it's free so you can just google for an APK.

Still playing Minecraft. Done so well on phone, it's quite remarkable.

On Xperia Play right? I have never played Minecraft on PC, but I feel like I'm going to get into this pretty hard when they release (if they haven't already?) the mobile version for Android.

What's up with the vanilla android release anyways? Has it happened? If not, when? Select devices?

Why does Kairosoft do this to me? I would have all of their releases if i just had a newer phone. My original Droid's onboard memory is full, so i cant add additional games that cant go to SD, so i have to wait until i get a better phone (earliest is November), or not buy them...but i want to buy them...DAMN IT!

I'm not really feeling Pocket League Story, it feels like a step backwards after Grand Prix Story. Lacks depth and I feel strangely disconnected from everything, it almost plays itself.

Although I'm now really itching to play a Football Management game.... or any management game for that matter.
