So I got the Humble Bundle and I'm really liking Fieldrunners. Osmos seems like it'll be a relaxing experience from what I've played so far. SpaceChem is really confusing.

Also, I noticed that some of the games I got from the Bundle is registered with the Play Store, while others have not. Will this be a problem?

Sometimes the Play store recognizes you have a game that is available on their store installed already. I don't think it lets you actually download from them.

It's not that angry birds is a bad game, it's fun but I certainly wouldn't compare angry birds to games you can play on your consoles or pcs.

Well, that was supposed to be a joke... In reality, I tend to actually be okay with casual games in general, despite my game library having stuff like Beyond Good & Evil and Chrono Trigger on the more niche end. I love games like Bejeweled, Luxor, and Peggle as puzzle games, and I suppose Angry Birds is in a similar mold to them. I also enjoyed Wii Sports which I got on my Wii. Unlike most gamers, I have an understanding that they are not trying to be like the traditional AAA releases and also understand that they are extensions of gaming genres that have always been around like puzzle and sports games.

However, I do not like blatant copycat games like one might see Zynga try to sell.

I'd like to recommend Virtual Table Tennis 3D. It's a very simple game, the AI is pretty stupid, and it doesn't really get challenging until the last few levels, but it actually kind of feels like real table tennis! No other table tennis game I've tried for Android even comes close in that regard.

Does not compute!

There is a difference between what Popcap and Rovio do and well, this:

You don't see Popcap and Rovio getting sued for ripping off games.

Not available for the Galaxy Nexus, meh. Sure, it's a reasonably good looking game, and the Nexus doesn't have the most impressive hardware, but I'm sure it could run it. It runs stuff like Shadowgun, Dead Trigger and Dead Space just fine.

Also, $7 (which is sort of a lot for an Android game) + in-app purchases pisses me off. If I pay for the game up-front I should get the whole game. Hopefully the stuff locked away behind IAP is stuff you don't actually need to fully enjoy the game.

But whatever, they don't want me to buy it anyway. Also, Zynga does suck.

So Plants vs. Zombies is free on Amazon App Shop now! It doesn't work on ICS though...pretty shoddy that they don't inform you about that beforehand.

For anyone interested, it would now seem that the Amazon App Store is now available in Europe (well the UK at least)! Time to grab your free app a day!

Gah Chuzzle seems to be missing though.

Yes, no dice for Horn on the SIII too.
Bullshit to release it only for Tegra devices, what the fuck.

Android is an awesome OS, but gaming really sucks on it. It seems that my Galaxy SIII will never reach it's full potential because developers are too lazy (or do not see value) on developing for those high-end Android devices.

Might as well go back to the iPhone when the next one launches. I'll miss the whole Android experience, but damn, games are important for me.

This is more of a money thing. The SGS3 is powerful enough to run stuff like Horn without a problem. But hey, nvidia moves money under the noses of these developers and what else are they going to do?

Besides, games like this completely hammer your battery life. I don't understand why you'd bother.

I don't care about battery life that much. I carry a charger with me all the time, and if needed, I jist charge the device.

I know that it's absolutely related to money, since the SIII is the best device out there, period. But it's also about market fragmentation and piracy rates. And this is much more controlled on Apple devices.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE mey SIII, from the design to how snappy everything feels. But it seems like I'm not using it to it's full potential, not even close.

Wow, can't believe I missed the humble bundle :(. Jumped on the newsletter to prevent that from happening again.

Seems like the Cave Shooters are incompatible with the N7. And Granny Smith looks like fun.

I bought McPixel this morning and only got to trying it out now. It won't get past a white screen for me, and I can't get a refund now.

I'm using an old droid incredible, but it runs other stuff fine still. Oh well, wasted $3.

Is there any site that displays new and upcoming Android apps? Maybe even price drops and updates?

I've been trying to look for an Android version of Appshopper with no luck.

Blazing Star got a new update that adds auto fire and 1:1 touch control (with separate leaderboard). Great game on Nexus 7, was pretty difficult with sluggish pre-update controls.

Holy fuck I bought this today! Talking about lucky!

Also Modern Combat 3 and Nova 3 by Gameloft are both on sale for one week only .99c

I only have the space for one of these, any GAF'er have recommendations?
On a side note I really wish Mass Effect Infiltrator went on sale.

Just a quick heads up for those thinking of buying N.O.V.A 3, it's nearly 2gb in size so it's a pain in the arse if you own an N7 like myself.

I got McPixel on the PC back when Giant Bomb did the quicklook. The only thing I haven't figured out is the bonus stage with the cow. Also does it even matter if you beat the bonus stages?

Is there anything special about the CAVE shmups considering how many bullet hell shmups are out there? I grew up with R-Type, Gradius, Raptor and Tyrian and I'm no fan of the bullet hell games I played so far.

So I downloaded Tiny Tower and found the graphics and music very charming - latter reminds me of theme hospital.

But the actual game is.... absolutely terrible. It's barely a game really. You just sit around and wait until you have enough money to buy a new floor. The uinspired busywork of manually shuttling people between floors and locating your residents seems ripped straight out of a learning game for toddlers.

Are there any city building / tycoon / management with actual gameplay, that are worth playing?

Rebuild

Pretty much anything Kairosoft

Kairosoft's games are still mostly back-patting simulators and not even remotely challenging. I know your pain, I've been looking for some econ sim with actual difficulty too.
