You know, I'm really enjoying Amazon App Store's Free App of the Day. It's been pretty interesting and the most recent one, Quell Reflect, seems like a pretty interesting puzzle game.

Rayman coming to Android! ...as an auto-runner.

Rayman Jungle Run is coming to iOS and Android on September 20th, and it runs on the same UbiArt engine that Rayman Origins used.

Interestingly, made by Pastagames. The makers of Pix N Love Rush and Maestro Jump in Music.

Total War Battles is out now for $5. It's incompatible with all of my devices so that makes the purchase decision very easy.

Greetings GAF!

We've launched our third game HueBrix for the Android as well as the iOS platforms (Mac version on the way as well).

Launch Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StTUrOy0mBE
Gameplay Teaser: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mk5w4axtttk
Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.noodlecake.huebrixfree
iOS: http://www.itunes.com/apps/HUEBRIX

Do let us know what you think!

It looks really cool. I saw it on Android Police last night and since then it's been making me rethink the entertainment plans I laid out for my cross-country flight tomorrow.

Could somebody please help me remember the name of a game that I can't seem to find?

It had a short name, really minimalist game with a wheel in the center made of three colors. You spin the wheel and color chunks float into the center, and you kind of catch the chunk with the part of the wheel it matches.

I think I'm gonna get a S3 soon. Been an iPhone person the past 5 years but looks like that's all gonna change!

What games do you recommend?

GAF, what are some of the best cross platform (Android-iOS) asynchronous multiplayer games, besides the usual Words with Friends, Hanging with Friends, Draw Something etc?

Me and my friends are looking for some but are kinda burnt out on the big ones.

I posted this in the thread before but since u asked here it is again:

pocket legends, star legends, space: uncharted, dark legends

I really like space uncharted but havent played in awhile because I heard its broken for icecream 4.0 and they are working on a update.

edit: oops sorry I guess space uncharted is the only one of those that is 'asynchronous'... lol I had to google that word.

So I already have an iPad with quite a few apps on it. I picked up an S3 recently and got $25 in Google Play fundage (from Target).

I downloaded Orbital, Drop7, Jetpack Joyride, Stupid Zombies.

Most of these were actually free. What are the other "must have" titles that I should look into? I don't get a ton of time to play on the device, but would like a few time-wasters. Wouldn't mind a decent TD game in there. I love Fieldrunners but I played the crap out of that on iOS.

Granny Smith is a blast. Highly recommend. Oscura is really good too. A platformer not dependent on virtual joysticks and it works really well.

Even though Strikefleet Omega is a RTS game. It's just freemium and it gets harder later, I haven't spent a dime and have dominated the the first 25ish levels, all three stars.

Dead Trigger is the best FPS I've played on a phone. The touch controls actually work very well. In time you'll be able to actually pull off head shots. With the USB OTG + PS3 controller, the game is even better. This counts as a time waster too because levels take about 5-6 mins.

For TD, Radiant Defense is very challenging (probably requires you spend a little money to get really far), but I've heard the first 6 worlds are doable without paying a dime. That amounts to a lot of gameplay. You just have to really be good with strategy in this game and understand unit placement to succeed. It's rewarding when you figure out how to beat a world. Also, this easily has the best music and the best visual style and challenge out of ANY TD I've ever played. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bh8LuuHZz4Y

GYRO is a great simple puzzle game that easy to learn but hard to master. This might be one of your best time wasters.

Major Mayhem Time Crisis style shooter that's pretty fun and has a ton of content. Great time waster.

Are there any full casino games? Or do you have to get a separate slot game, a separate BJ game, a separate poker game, a separate roulette game, etc? Isn't there one that is a casino game where I can play different games with one money pool?

Great game so far!
One question though: If you mess up once, can you go back and retry so that you can get the gold medal? I found that I couldn't, but I'm not sure if that was by design or not.

Keep up the good work :D

I dunno if anybody's tried this game, but Castle of Shadows is an interesting Castlevania clone/ripoff. It's also free.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zhanyao4Main&hl=en

Why the hell does that need to read my contact data and location?

As for game recommendations, my usual ones are:
- Kairosoft (the best ones are currently Epic Astro Story or Kairobotica)
- Destroy Gunners
- Star Traders RPG (the same developer also has a Templar Assault game that looks to be like Space Hulk)
- Dangerous (since the name's so generic: It's by Binary Helix and since a recent patch seems to be listed under your local translation of the word Dangerous, e.g. Gefährlich in Germany)
- Dead Trigger (although I can't say how that plays without physical controls)

OK after the joys of Granny Smith at .99c I've been in search of some other killer .99c games for my Nexus 7. I've found a goody, its called iblast Moki 2 Its a cross between Loco Roco, The Incredible Machine and Little Big Planet and its quite the jem. Its a fairly easy game but its a real charmer and deserves a lot more attention than what its getting. Great art style, music, level creation tools and level sharing.

Here's the link:

Thanks everyone for your support! HueBrix is currently No. 77 of the Top 100 Paid iOS games in the US... Lots of work ahead of us :)

This is by design. You can still obtain the gold medal by playing the level again, but not by starting from where you left off or clicking on the restart button (ie. the timer continues going). Meaning, you will have to complete the stage once in order to try for a medal again.

Three random questions in preparation of receiving my Nexus 7 tomorrow.

1) If I own GameDevStory already, are there any other Kairosoft games that are worth buying? I love GameDevStory, but every single Kairosoft game I look at seems like it is exactly the same.

2) Anyone here play Organ Trial? I searched this thread but no one has talked about it yet. Is it worth buying?

3) What are some good roguelikes, primarily with tablets in mind? I've played Dweller, Legends of Yore, and all the Trese brother games (they are kind of like roguelikes!) and love all of them, but wanted to see if I was missing any.

I liked it, but then I got up to the pirate stages and couldn't really figure out what to do. It felt like there was only 1 solution and if you didn't figure it out, you weren't going to get through.

I REALLY wanted to buy this because I used to play Oregon Trail on an Apple IIe as a kid and had fond memories of that. I didn't do it though because apparently you have stamina in the game and can only play for so long without running out. The only way to recharge it is in true Zynga style; either wait a few hours for more stamina to recharge or buy some within the app. No thanks.

I think you might be confusing this with this! The Organ Trail is loads of fun and has absolutely no micro transactions whatsoever. the only downside I've found with it, is that the aiming can be a bugger when exploring.

I thought that was for Gameloft's Organ Trail. Didn't know it was for that one too.

Try my game Voyage to Farland. It's a bit more animated and harder than some of the other Android roguelikes -- it's more like Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer. It also uses a virtual D-PAD which some people hate. A few Nexus 7 owners bought it in August, so I assume (hope) it works OK on the device.

There's a free version to try first before you drop the money on the paid version.

What is the best Texas Hold'Em game to play? None of that online registration crap, just singleplayer offline against cpu. Also, I've got a Desire so nothing too fancy.

Congratulations, it's a brilliant game. I've spent a lot of time puzzling over it, once you start it's difficult to stop!

so thats another iphone exclusive on android. are the android exclusives being ported ios too?

Cafe Nipponica is ported to iOS. Android still has World Cruise Story, Pocket Clothier, Kairobotica and Sushi Spinnery.

I highly doubt iOS won't get them sooner or later. I think Kairo slowed down their iOS development earlier because of some "bug" but looks like it has been resumed.

So I just wasted $0.99. I must learn to check the Samsung Store first. Is there any webbased store to check the contents? I usually do not buy the games directly on the tablet, but on the PC at work.

Yeah, where is this store exactly?

Would have been nice for people to mention these things since we discussed for the quite a little while it was on sale. Also, are you guys sure that it's the full version of virtua tennis in the samsung store and not the free version? There's also a free version in the play store. Lastly, it doesn't matter that I have the Verizon Nexus does it?
