Is anybody having issues with Waking Mars? I just bought it as part of the Humble Bundle for Android 4 and I can't play for more than a minute before the game force quits. My phone is the Droid RAZR HD.

Force closes on me before even getting to a menu. I am on a Galaxy Note II.

Machanarium and Waking Mars are really fantastic so far on a Nexus 7. I own S&S twice over before this, so haven't tried it yet.

Same problem here on a Galaxy Note, though much sooner than a minute.

Speaking of issues, is anyone having trouble running Sword & Sworcery on a Nexus 7? It seems like a part of the screen is being cut off which prevents me from advancing the menus.

Machinarium looks lovely on a Nexus 7 though.

I have the exact opposite issue. Sworcery looks good, but Machinarium is cut off on my SGS II. Can't advance beyond the first screen :(

The SGS II only has a resolution of 800 x 600 doesn't it? I think the app states a resolution of 1024x768 is required.

Same here. On a Galaxy S2.

Hmm.. Waking Mars works well on a Galaxy Nexus. This is the list of supported devices, which you have. Did you guys root your phones or are you still running the Motorola/Samsung custom UIs?

Waking Mars has been fine for me on a Nexus 7 too, rather fun game!

Yeah, I had doubts about the controls at first, but the developers did a great job. I'm enjoying the game immensely.

SGS II, with CM10. Closes as soon as the title screen as faded.

Maybe it is CM?

Same problem with the Waking Mars crash ...

What version of Android are you running?

Hey guys, new to gaming on phones. Just picked up a Samsung SIII. First thing I did was download Dodonpachi, the shump game.

For about 30 min I couldn't believe I was playing it. Then I put it down come back to it and now every time I start the game the screen just goes black. I can hear, touch and still even play the game in the background I just can't see it!

Also, when I bring up menus that turns the screen back on and I can see the game fine for a brief second and then instantly gets black again.

whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Any help greatly appreciated, I don't wanna have to go back to bestbuy please!

edit: try closing it first from the task manager. OR

Try to delete the cache for this game. From settings>apps, select dodopanchi.
As last resort try to delete the settings also (this will delete your save game also - probably)

Thanks for the info, I'm trying to reinstall it now and will try those things your mentioned as well.

So I tried reinstalling, deleting all the registry info etc. for the dodonpachi game and it still gives me a black screen.

It's weird, when I turn the volume up/down the game plays fine then when the volume menu disappears the screen goes black again.

WTF! I was in shump heaven for less than 24 hours.

Sounds like time to contact them. There should be support info in the Play Store, or you can try them on Twitter at @cave_world_en.

Also, pet peeve, it's "shmup", not "shump". Short for "shoot em up".

I just bought a Nexus 7 for my wife, like the device thus far. Snappy and a solid screen although a bit small for my taste.

Is there an app on android similar to "AppShopper" on iOS? That will track the prices of games and notify me of sales?

Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery is a brilliant game. 20 minutes in - the music, atmosphere and simple art is perfect.

I can't recommend it enough for people on the fence with the Humble Bundle 4 (and that's just one game!).

I use AppSales. You can set it so that only games on sale are displayed.

I'm sure I'd love this game if I could get past the title screen. >.>

I just played this on my Nexus and it is a REALLY good game. :D

Thinking about getting a Samsung Note 2 in the near future. Would probably go T-Mobile since I don't want expensive contracts.

Good for gaming? I read the screen is kinda dark, not very bright. Is that true?

I love my Note one screen I consider it to be better than Vita's. But maybe the Note 2 screen got darker. IDK. The Notes are as good as it can get with Android gaming, few Tegra exclusives notwithstanding. However, don't expect anything amazing, Android gaming should be a secondary consideration while choosing an smartphone or you will be disappointed imo.

The screen is really bright and fantastic for gaming. I think if you choose the default auto brightness level then yes it may be a little dark. The colours are incredibly vibrant and you may want to change the profile to a more natural level. Loading up Netflix produces the most eye piercing red I've ever seen, I love it. :)

Coming from the iphone 4 I'd say the screen trumps it in every way. One thing I was not expecting was how much better it is than the Vita screen, and is really apparent when watching movies, they look stunning.

Battery life is brilliant also, it's like a mini ipad. I've had mine for a couple of weeks now and apart from a weaker app store I can't fault it.

I liked the art and music on sword and sorcery, played it on ipad awhile ago, didn't think it was anything too special as an adventure game though but it was worth the time.

So I'm in the mood for a sim city/town-type of game. I'm a big fan of Kairosoft, so I was looking at their games. Anyone here played either Venture Towns, or Oh! Edo Towns?

I just found out that Chaos Rings is finally available! I'll hold off for now just in case there is a sale in the near future (being the holiday season and all), but I'll definitely pick it up at some point.

My phone is on the supported list for waking mars but I get a force quit every time I walk towards the first plants at the beginning of the game. I'm hoping someone has reported it to the developer and a patch is being worked on because it looks like a fantastic game.

Edit: Oh looks like they are working on a fix and some potential solutions are listed along with it.

This helped. I didn't clear cache, but I cleared the data and moved it to my SD card. Works fine now.
