Just a warning, I picked up Nun Attack hoping for another Battleheart and have been very disappointed to find upgrades locked behind IAPs. To be clear, the game is NOT free and still costs $0.99. It also lacks the customization Battleheart had. Buy with caution.

ZooKeeper Battle finally got ported to Android. I recommend checking it out, it's free to play and addicting. ZooKeeper DX also got updated to include the higher-quality sprites from Battle.

Yesssss! Getting it now!

In app purchases confirmed. :(
But you don't need the in app purchases, not at all. There are VERY different types of IAPs, you shouldn't instantly rule out any game just because it has them.

Thanks for the heads up on this, this is the bad kind of IAP huh :) Shame as I loved Battleheart.

It seems the only thing I play on my S3 is Orbital, in SuperNova mode.
Didn't even know this was on Android, thanks for the heads up!

Yesss! Shame there's nothing like GameCenter for Android yet though

Has anyone played Devil's Attorney? Is it worth the asking price?
A couple of us have, with mixed impressions. I liked it, and thought I more than got my $3.00 out of it. Other's didn't agree. It's not as in-depth as a Phoenix Wright game, but I still found it fun.
Devil's Attorney is a fun, but extremely easy on "normal," strategy game that you guys might enjoy.

Just bought Devils Attorney and it's really bland. Pretty as hell but the gameplay is boring/simplistic as fuck. Avoid avoid avoid avoid avoid. Do not let the flashy trailer fool you.

I was expecting Phoenix Wright and all I got was "do these things in this order to win case in 30 seconds." I'm giving it 2 stars then uninstalling.

/shrug It's simplistic and on the extremely easy side, but I enjoyed it and felt like I got $3.00 worth of game play out of it.

Agreed. It's something you can play for a couple minutes and then stop. Hard difficulty isn't that easy either.

Thanks for the input mre! I'll check it out myself.

so due to the Humble Indie bundle, I now have Sword and Sworcery on my iMac and Android.

I assume the saves don't sync between the two??

so should I play on my phone (GNex) or iMac?

The game was built for touch screen controls, but would look amazing on my 27" screen...

Hi all

Got a nexus 7 this weekend.

What games do you guys recommend

I have an iphone 4s so have played a fair few of the more well known ones but any suggestion will be good.

So far I have:
Dead Trigger
Shadowgun dead zone
Plague inc
Bards tail
dark meadow
Jetpack joyride.

Think thats about all i have put on it so far.

Quite enjoying dead trigger and shadowgun dead zone.

Might have to do the whole root and terminal thing to get my wireless xbox controller working though.

I haven't used Android for games, much, but Rayman Jungle Run, Organ Trail and Knight's of Pen and Paper are all decent little titles.

If you're into those Kairosoft games, I think there's a few Android specific ones, like that Pokemon one... Beastie Bay, I think?

Got jungle run on my phone which is a great game. Will look at other ones.

I wish people would just make xbox and ps3 controllers the standard. Im really tempted to get my one working.

If that was the standard I would imagine tablet gaming would get a lot more popular in the shooter category. Dead trigger and shadowgun both look and play nice.

No idea how the games are yet, but Gameloft discounted four of their $6.99 titles to $0.99.

They are:

The Amazing Spider-Man
BackStab
Gangstar Rio: City of Saints
The Adventures of Tintin

I bought the top 3, but am not installing any at this time since they are huge files. That and I'd rather try them on my Nexus7 instead of my phone.

My list of most addictive games.

Granny Smith
Angry Birds Star Wars
Dragon, Fly
Ski Safari
Triple Town
Flow Free
Cut The Rope
Bad Piggies
Zoo Keeper Battle
Jetpack Joyride
Subway Surfers
Backflip Madness
Major Mayhem
Extreme Roadtrip 2
Game Dev Story
World Of Goo
Broken Sword

There are others like GTA 3 but I picked my favorite quick play anywhere games that work perfectly with touch screen controls.

In regards to the humble bundle, if I pay at least $6.66 I will get all 11 games? Also in regards to the Exchange is it better to use Google wallet or PayPal?

Just buy the humble indie bundle and be good. Beat the average price and you get everything.

Bought a $25 google play card in anticipation for thanksgiving-christmas sales. I hate having .10-.25 cent charges on my credit card (especially multiple ones that will flag the CC fraudulent charge system). Figured that a gift card would help that out a bit.

I think you can add store credit with a credit card. If I click to buy something (using the store app on my Nexus 7) and then change the "Pay with" box to "Add to balance", it gives me a choice to add $5, $10, $15, $25, or $50 to my store credit. Maybe I'm only seeing this option because I have a remaining balance ($0.53) on the $25 credit Google gave me for buying a Nexus 7.

Yeah, I have a credit card currently associated, and I searched high and low on the android play store and on the computer, couldn't find anything. I don't even see an add to balance option. I think if you have a CC card associated you won't be able to add credit, which seems kind of stupid. I may be missing something though

OK, maybe once you redeem the card you bought it'll give you the "add to balance" option in the "Pay with" box. I know you don't need to add any more credit now but it might come in handy in the future.

If you've already redeemed the card and you still don't have an "add to balance" option, maybe it's something unique to the Nexus 7 version of the Google Play store app.

Edit: Yes, I have a credit card associated with my account. I tap the credit card number and it pops up a box which includes an option to "add to balance". The other choices are "Add card" (meaning another credit card, I guess) and "Redeem".

For all the raving about Sword and Sworcery being this awesome touch game I have to say it's been a crap experience to play. The touch interface often mis-interprets my intention (touch & hold to move often ends up panning the view around instead). The "next screen" hot areas are too small and often I have to move the character away from the edge of the screen to be able to touch the small area for him to move to. The sheep puzzle was an exercise in frustration as touches didn't register. And so on. Some of this may be the Android port (the last one, for example) but the small "next screen" areas is just bad game dev. It's just so much nicer to play with a mouse on a computer.

Anyone tried Arcane legends by Space time Studios yet? A MMO hack n'slash in the vein of Diablo, and so far very enjoyable!

Free with IAP of course, but nothing gross so far. I'm playing it on a Nexus 7 and it runs like a dream, though I don't know how it might react to different hardware.

when is Jet Set Radio supposed to be out?

Anyone else not have any sound in jetpack joyride on the nexus 4?

It seems to not be working for me for some reason, the sound works on all my other apps/games.

I was kinda hoping Batman or Modern Combat 3 would go on sale, but I did pick up Samurai 2 and Shadowgun on sale. I enjoyed Samurai 2 on iOS and it's also great on Android and Shadowgun is pretty much what you would expect.

In a related note, anyone else not able to connect to the master server in Shadowgun: Deadzone? I wanted to try it out but could never get it online. I'm on a Nexus 7, if that's relevant.

Interested in Spider-man and tintin. Any impressions?

I'm also considering a couple of the Gameloft games but I'm not sure which ones to get. So far I've bought Majesty, Shadowgun THD and the DosBox Turbo emulator.

Any idea how well Dungeon Keeper runs on Dosbox emulators? My gnote2 is itching for some action :-D

On an unrelated note, you guys have any idea if baldur's gate: enhanced edition will be playable on ohablets? I heard it'll only be coming out for tablets on android.

Be prepared for disappointment. Gameloft still haven't learned how to code for the Tegra 3 så the framerate in most of their games is horrible on the Nexus 7.

I'm getting like 10fps in The Amazing Spider-Man. :(

It's just playable on my S3 (International ed) using the games low res mode (alt+r ingame, forces 320x200 I think). Using DOSBox turbo, emulating 30000 cycles.

High-res mode looks great but is <10fps.

Anyone playing Zookeeper?

How do you actually invite a player for a game?

you cant play against friends in zoo keeper battle?

If there's a way to do it, I haven't found it. As far as I can tell there's no matchmaking filters, just ranked battle worldwide against randoms. Dunno if they're going to patch it to add more options or not.

The matchmaking kinda sucks, too. I've had more than a few instances where the game matches me against someone ranked way higher than me so I get my ass kicked in a single turn, or the opposite where I play against someone way lower and win without any problem.

I can't stop playing it though. Too addicting.

So I bought Backstab because all the gaming podcasts are talking about Ass. Creed 3 and its currently on sale for a buck and it's pretty cool so far.

Glitchy animations and it has that Gameloft "charm" we all know and love where it's janky as fuck and nobody's mouth moves but it's pretty fun nonetheless.

I've also been playing Dark Meadow and enjoying that. It's probably the best horror game I've played on a mobile device.

I've anyone knows either good horror games for Android I'd love to know!

Are there any good Android games with LAN multiplayer? My brother and I both have Nexus 7s and I'm looking for some multiplayer stuff to play over the holidays.

me neither... only thing that stops me is the recharge on the matches..
