me neither... only thing that stops me is the recharge on the matches..

I played it for a bit, around ~80 matches. I just ended up getting pissed off from other people getting incredibly lucky. Getting 2-3 hearts each battle, along with sling mud and the coach on me. Maybe I am missing something, but it has been more frustrating than fun the further I got into it.

Jetpack Joyride on the other hand... 20 hours so far and counting.

Loving Granny Smith for the most part, but there are some real difficulty spikes and what is with the incredibly bland environments?

The graphics and artwork are great, but why does every other level take you through a sewer? Even the zoo level (which I was really looking forward to) is probably 20% going through a zoo with various animals etc, and 80% sewers. Bleugh.

I'm very happy to have gotten Avadon in the Humble Bundle, but I feel like I'm gonna go blind playing it on a Nexus 7. Everything is just small enough that it's squinty. There's no way to lower the rest at all, right?

Not that I've found.

I'm hoping that BGEE (whenever it finally comes out) will somehow look a bit better on a 7" tablet than Avadon. Avadon is playable and I really like the game, but it's just at the edge of "too small"

I sure do hope BGEE comes out for the N7100 Note 2. I'm so pumped to replay this again. Anyone heard if it's gonna be released for phablet-sized phones?

I mentioned it v earlier but I'd v really like other people's thoughts on the dark meadow. I've put a good deal of time into it and am really surprised at how good it is.

Good monster design, an interesting story, and awesome monster design to boot! Very impressive and it makes me want to pick up Horn once I beat it. The phosphor games guys know their shit.

Any other decent horror games?

Why is it that most/all of the Android board game adaptations lack online multiplayer?

There's no Android equivalent of Apple's Game Center, which is what makes implementing multiplayer on iOS comparatively easy. My understanding is that Game Center takes care of all the netcode, match making and such. On Android a developer would have to design and code all that stuff themselves.

whats the scoop on the expansions. any of them worth it?

Is it worth not playing Cities and Knights, that's the real question. :P

Seafarers is a bit meh, I find, but Cities and Knights is a huge improvement (though it can be quite easy for one player to fall horribly behind early on...)

They have the expansions on the android version? I have C&K on the real boardgame, but nobody ever wants to play it cause it adds a good hour or more to our play sessions.

So I grabbed Jet Set Radio. Touch controls aren't terrible, but the game is rife with bugs. Zfighting everywhere. The sound (music?) control in the options menu actually mutes all SFX if you crank it to 100.

The worst is that you can't navigate the Garage or Character Select screens. Meaning you can't save your game. (edit: game auto saves for you. Still can't navigate Garage screens or change my character.)

Kind of embarrassing. The game also looks quite jaggerific on my GS3.

I only played with the tutorial a bit on my Transformer Prime and thus far it's perfect for me! It's a game that really could benefit from controller support and hopefully that isn't too far off...I'm sure it's been answered here already (I'll do a search in a moment) but is there a GAF consensus for a good controller for android (small/portable)?

I think you can get a Dual Shock 3 to work with any Android phone. Don't know if JSR has controller support, however.

Also, I'm curious to see if you can select a different character or navigate the Garage screens on your phone. I cannot on my Galaxy S 3. :c

At work so I won't be able to test until then. As for the DS3, yes it works great on my tablet but it isn't very portable...The iControlpad seems to be all I want but I can't find a distributor in the States. :/

I finally figured out how to change characters and navigate the Garage menus... Swipe left and right. God I hate touch screen gaming sometimes.

this made me chuckle :-P

Been playing the game with my DS3 via USB and it seems to have support for it surprisingly. They need to fix some of the graphics though...textures tear and it could use a boost in the resolution for my tablet. Some kind of smoothing would help greatly too...still it's great to have this game on the go.

I'm downloading modern combat 3 and Horn right now. I'm usually cautious where Gameloft is involved but I'm really enjoying backstab as just a dumb action game so maybe they stepped up their game.

I'm excited for Horn. Phosphor really impressed me with the Dark Meadow so they are a Dev to watch for.

I'll be receiving a Nexus 7 as a Christmas present, and as my gaming is usually confined to 360/PS3 I'm wondering if there's a good selection of games? I'm not looking for a "console quality" experience, more what is the best the platform has to offer.

I'm Total and utter n00b when it comes to this, so have subscribed to this thread to help enlighten me better, but a link or two to catch up on the scene/titles to look out for would be most welcome if possible :-)

I'm a big fan of the games by a developer called "Mad Finger". They have a great beat 'em up called "Samurai 2", and a bunch of good shooters to check out; Dead trigger and Shadowgun.

For horror games I've really enjoyed The Dark Meadow. Platforming I suggest Rayman Jungle Run.

Don't know if it was already discussed in this thread, but you guys should buy Sleepwalker's Journey. Charming, charming, little game from the same developers of Anomaly and Funky Smugglers.

How well does Drop7 run on Android, particularly the Galaxy SIII? I absolutely loved the game on iPhone and have no qualms rebuying it for my new phone, but only if it's optimized for it. The reviews mention how high scores sometimes don't save, but I figure I'd ask for Gaf's opinion first. Anyone else have this game on Android, and if so, would you recommend it?

And as an aside, is developing for Android harder than iOS? I would imagine it is, considering the vast number of phones that your product must work on. Considering this, is there any chance of downloading an app on Google Play that simply does not work on your phone?

Hey guys! The company I work for just launched its newest game for Android and iOS! It's called Letter by Letter! It's an awesome new kind of word game that's sort of Boggle meets Othello. Games are cross compatible with iOS users, so you can play with anybody! It also works great on the Nexus 7! Please check it out!

I think I may have been the first downloader since it said "0+"! How terribly exciting. Will try it out soon.

Some highly questionable reviews so far for Letter by Letter. I am not saying they are fake, but they are fake.
Well, having just done the tutorial and started a new game against a random opponent I can confirm that it's a fun word game and also the single most important event in human history since the invention of stone tools.

Now hopefully my honorable opponent won't take forever with their turn.

I don't think anyone here has mentioned it, but the Avengers game that's basically an Infinity Blade clone got ported to Android. Sounds like it doesn't run on a lot of devices though, so read reviews for your specific device before buying it.

I think it's optimized for Tegra devices, but it runs well on my non-Tegra Galaxy S3. Cutscenes are a little choppy but gameplay is silky smooth, and it's fun. It's got some IAP but it doesn't ruin the game like it does in Deathdome.

Samurai II: Vengeance is a ton of fun! Finally got around to playing Jetpack Joyride on the way to a restaurant. That's also fantastic, too.
I'm a pretty big fan of all of mad finger's games. They're a quality developer, though they were doing some nutty stuff around the release of Dead Trigger.

Damn, Zoo Keeper Battle is very fun and addictive. It's a bit of a shame that you can't play versus friends (only randoms), and it's also a bit annoying that you can only amass two CP/"turn points" (not sure what the 'C' actually stands for) at a time (to get more you have to pay for them - hell no). But it's still a very nice game to pick up and play for two or three rounds (you can usually get another CP charged up while playing the first two rounds) and then wait 12+ minutes (you get a new CP every 6 minutes) before picking it up again. And I guess the 2 free CP limit prevents me from wasting too much time on the game, which I'd very much risk doing otherwise. The game has an extremely strong "just one more round" factor.

I am enjoying it as well, but it doesn't seem to support my phone's resolution. I get black bars on the top.

The IAPs seem very expensive for what they do. I wonder how many people actually buy those special items and the bottles.

Yeah, I also get that, seems like the game has a fixed aspect ratio. But the blacks on my GNex are so deep that they blend in with the bezel, so it doesn't really bother me.

Yeah, no way I'm spending a cent on the game.

If a game is structured around IAP, I don't even bother with it. Especially the pseudo city builder type games which are just progress quest, monetized. (The Hobbit game, for example).

Finding games that I like for my Nexus 7 has been a challenge, but I knew what to expect when I was going in.

I have bad piggies, angry birds star wars, broken sword, and some puzzle games but there's not a lot of real games for me on here yet.

The Final Fantasy 3 port seems to get high praise, and I did love the game on DS. Maybe I will replay it. 15 bucks is worth it if its a well made port and the game isn't structured to extract money from you continually.

Anyone here play it?

I'm surprised Doom isn't on here, I loved the way Carmack had it set up for the iPhone.
