This may have already been posted, but it looks like some Square Enix games are on sale... kind of.

For as much as I want some of these games, the reviews seem to indicate that Square Enix doesn't care much for Android and won't be bothered to fix some nagging issues (mainly, the license/file check everytime the device goes to sleep for games like Chrono Trigger, and the lack of a quicksave functionality!?).

Chaos Rings ($3.99)

Chaos Rings 2 ($3.99)

Chrono Trigger ($6.99)

Final Fantasy I ($4.99)

so what are the sale prices? do i have to click?

so what are the sale prices? do i have to click?

Nope, I typed the sale prices in! Yes, they are still very high compared to most mobile games, but this is Square Enix... plus you can make the argument that the other versions of these games cost a lot more. Maybe.

Unless you mean the old prices, which aren't shown.

I think the original prices are:

Chaos Rings: $12.99
Chaos Rings 2: $12.99
Chrono Trigger: $9.99
Final Fantasy I: $6.99

but those are all based off of a poor memory.

So apparently Chrono trigger doesn't run well on nexus 7,and I don't want to play ff1 again... The chaos rings series don't interest me... Anybody got any suggestions for a good RPG?

Has anyone found any amazing RTS games similar to Starcraft or DOTA in style? I absolutely loved Plants War until I figured out that I couldn't back up my game saves in that one and that was the last DOTA style game I played. There was some other one that I played, but I couldn't remember that one.

EDIT: the other game I played was Legendary Heroes (DOTA style game)

Also, has anyone played this Starcraft clone? http://www.gameloft.com/android-games/starfront-collision-hd/

There is "Heroes of Order & Chaos"

Sweet. Didn't know that Chaos Rings 2 was out on android as well. CR1 is the best looking android game I've seen yet.

CR2 isn't on Android yet - Chaos Rings Omega is a prequel and doesn't seem to improve on much from the first game, based on what I've found. This TouchArcade review is pretty lukewarm on it.

I think I'm going to get CR1 and then maybe get Omega based on how I feel about the first game.

Play reviews seem very negative about the copy protection...

Yeah, well, that's kind of par for the course when it comes to Squenix stuff on Android

I'm more concerned as to whether or not the CR games run well on my phone

I still can't wrap my head around the fact that the android version of Final Fantasy I somehow has slowdown

Sorry for the double post but Total War battles is on sale and it seems really cool

https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5zZWdhLnR3YnNob2d1biJd

someone has tried it?
I played it and it was okay. I liked the PC games, but the gameplay is nothing like their PC brethren and some of the levels are just obnoxious. For example, some levels have no battles and consist of you trying to fit a certain number of buildings on the hexagonal board.

I regret buying it for full price, but I might recommend it if you can get it for a steal. $0.99 would be a buy, but at $1.99 I would hold off, unless you're hard up for something with even a little bit of strategy.

^ Really nice price on Superbrothers Sword & Sworcery, thanks. (£1.25) - doesn't say special introductory but you'd assume, I think it's £2.99 on iOS.

-btw do try the SwiftKey trial, very impressive predictive text, I'm very surprised. No auto-complete but at least they are adding the flow (point and click at text to make words) app once it is out of (open) beta. It's on sale atm as well, give the trial a go but tbh just buy, you'll want it, saves you some hassle :P

Wow that is odd. I use a tablet but still have contacts numbers. Why are they even allow to access such data? Thats so intrusive.

Not sure tbh, something to do with bugging them through social features - you'd hope :/ Beats me why NFS would need it tbh..

Oh man, I just got my nyko ps3 controller and it's a damned miracle on my nexus 7. All sorts of retro fun and now great games like Dead Trigger are even better!

Does Max Payne work with a ps3 controller, by chance?

Edit: Holy shit guys, not only is Max Payne compatible with a controller, but the Thd version is a buck!!

Edit of an edit:

How the fuck do I shoot in Max Payne using a controller?

GTAIII is $0.99 and so is Dead Space. Hope these deal are still around by tomorrow until I can grab Play card.

Edit:

Super Monkey Ball and Sonic CD are $0.99 might go and run out now for a Play card.

super monkey ball? shame on all of you for not saying anything

Today arrived on the play store a lot of great games

Sword&Sworcery (i think that this game doesn't need any presentation https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.capybaragames.sworcery

Anomaly Korea (the sequel of Anomaly Warzone Earth https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.elevenbitstudios.AnomalyKorea

Pudding Monsters the new game by the Cut the Rope guys https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zeptolab.monsters.free.google

All 3 games look good. So Pudding Monsters is free. Is it ad supported or IAP?

buy an OTG cable that simply turns the micro USB into a normal sized one and plug it in.

As long as its a wired controller it just works. Games with controller support work amazingly with it such as

dead trigger
shadowgun
shadowgun dead zone
GTA3
and GTA Vice city.

You can get the wireless one to work as well if you have the pc dongle receiver but you need to root the device and then do some other stuff to get it to work. YouTube vids exist to show you how. I just bought a wired one rather than bother getting my pc wireless one to work on it.

With that you can also plug in a mouse, keyboard and if you buy the nexus media reader app you can also read USB sticks and even SDHC cards in a usb card reader and stream or copy the info onto the device. I have a 64gb USB with a load of my movies on it so I can watch them when I got away.

This is on the nexus 7. I dont know how similar this is on other android devices.

Sadly the nexus 4 doesn't have any otg support :( i wish it did so badly....

Anyone know of any other decent games with an art style similar to Spell Sword?

Whoa whoa whoa guys....screw everything else. Metal Slug one just got added today and its only 2 dollars. Metal Slug 3 is up too but thats 6 dollars.

Perfect. Ad supported or paid are the models I want going forward.

I downloaded the ad version earlier, played a few levels and then bought the HD version. The game imported my progress from one version to the other, which I thought was a nice touch and missing from other games I've done the same thing with in the past such as Angry Birds Star Wars.

I've tried both. FPse runs good with many options. Had a few emulation problems though. ePSXe runs amazing and have not encountered a single problem with accurate emulation; you just can't increase the graphic fidelity which doesn't bother me plus the saves work on the PC version. I'd say get ePSXe, even the menus are easier to use.

That is interesting, thanks.

About the saves there are tools on the pc to change from one format to another.

Already have S&S through the Humble Android Bundle, but seeing Anomaly Korea I had to jump on it as I LOVED the XBLA release. My Nexus 7 when I switch it on on Tuesday will be groaning with gaming goodness, can't wait!

oh god so tempted to buy Metal Slug. but its going to control like shit on my crappy little phone.

cant be fun with touch controls can it?

Man, otg support is so cool. I stayed up way too late fiddling with the ps3 controller. Everything you can play with it makes the machine even better.

GTA 3 is on sale for a buck too! I bought that and it runs awesome on a Nexus 7 and includes controller support. I was kind of disappointed that samurai 2 didn't have controls work, since mad finger games seems to love it so much.

Man, the Max Payne series is one of the great game series of all time. I hope Rock* sees what a success it's been on mobile and brings over Max Payne 2. I know it was a huge leap, graphically, from 1 but you can't tell me a modern tablet couldn't handle it.

Also, anyone played MP1 with a physical controller on nexus 7? How the fuck do I shoot?

They won't leave us alone with these sales! Even Tetris and PvZ!

Any reason not to get them? - tetris doesn't have endless mode - even though it says "ENDLESS HOURS OF FUN IN MULTIPLE MODES" lol, bastards EA.

Probably grabbing Super Monkey Ball, Max Payne and GTA III too

Office Suit Pro 6 is $1 too

Picked up GTAIII, PvZ, SMB2, S:S&S and Max Payne too.

Need a new memory card soon, any recommendations? (Note II)

Also how does AdAway work? I got my phone abroad so forget warranty for rooting anyway (was no international warranty) - but does it just disconnect your internet when an app launches? That means no receiving messages ... (sms would still work but chat and email etc).. I know some games annoyingly don't launch without internet access too. On the description it says it works by editing the host file.. wow it can capture requests to a file so you can add them in, ok that is pretty cool. Bit too much effort since I tend to just avoid ad games altogether, maybe down the line.

I have no idea, but it's the same collection that was released for the Japanese 360 and are quite fabulous IMO. A lot of shmup for your buck.

Why Most Wanted is not compatible with my Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9? It is a tegra2 device....

Edited: OK, I found out that it is a new EA thing.... It says "This item cannot be installed in your device's country."

Any way around it?

You just have to choose the right link for your country between these

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ea.games.nfs13_na&hl=it

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ea.games.nfs13_row

From you nickname I presume you're italian like me so the correct link is the second one.

Seems still pretty pricey considering the recent sales (£2.62 here), is it better than Xelorians?

Demo version.

Very good imo (works with the pen in note 2 as well - makes it so much easier to control and see). It also doesn't have input lag unlike Blazing Star (thanks for the headsup guys :/ - which is now actually on sale too).
Damn I bought Raiden Legacy for full price a week ago. Whatever, I think its worth the 5 bucks. I haven't experieced aby input lag in blazing star myself.

Nick is italian but I am a Brazilian :-)

And the page was right, including even the price in our currency.

But the problem is solved, I was able to buy the game directly on the device with no problems. Maybe it is an issue with the webPlay and my work network...

Has anyone played the Conflicts series of wargames? They seem right up my alley, so I'll probably buy Barbarossa to try it out.

And are there other decent tbs and/or wargames out there? When I try to search by strategy, I get 90%+ RTS/tower defense games.

What's the best possible N64 emulator out there? Robert Broglia doesn't have one listed, and I'm willing to pay for a good one. N4 here so hopefully no compatibility issues.

N64oid, mupen64+ae.

Also for emulator fans, RetroArch is supposed to come out in a few days, for free.

Just bought NFS:MW. You just need to get to the right store. (European one is Netherlands apparently)

Thank you so much for mentioning PvZ, it's now compatible with the Galaxy Note II :D
