Android Gaming Thread New OP

The EU PlayStation blog posted about a PS Mobile promotion. 6 free games over 6 weeks. This week is Samurai Beatdown which I just picked up with my US account, so it's possible this promotion is across regions.

Don't have a Vita or a PlayStation certified Android device? Are you rooted? No problem.
 
I'm in dire need of some good online multiplayer games. Going crazy not finding anything. Preferably for two people (more is fine, but there has to be a sense of rivalry). Any ideas?

What device are you using? It was actually pretty easy to install PSM on my Nexus 7 following that, and while I was able to select Samurai Beatdown and have it download, it failed every time the game tried to install (I also tried Lemmings which was free). D'oh. Sony probably changed something to disallow this to work anymore.

I installed PSM on a crappy Gingerbread phone a couple of months ago and was able to play games. I installed PSM on my Motorola Photon Q about 5 days ago and installed Samurai Beatdown today and was able to play the first level.

edit: Now that I think about it, I used the instructions on another site when I did the install last week. The apk I downloaded may have been a newer version or something. The Android Police link is what I originally used and what I searched for when I posted this morning.

There is a demo, but I only had it installed for 30 seconds...I dropped the buck and have been hooked since.

Amazing game. I keep playing this on my lunchbreak and getting back to work later and later. Time just flies when I'm playing this.
 
So I gave Dead Trigger a fair try. Great game if you do some things for free gold first. The first pistol you csn buy with gold is massively OP in the beginning if you can upgrade it. Not liking the high tier rank weapons.
 
Need for Speed Most Wanted is not available anymore for the Nexus 4. WTF? I was playing it just fine before I rooted my phone, and now I can't re-download it off the app store! >=(

I have a lot of fun with that game. I've been using the Bren, Minigun (bought when it was the special of the day) and the Striker.

Weapons will periodically pop up for ~70% off, so just buy the good ones then.

The default difficulty is so easy it almost became tedious after a while to capture all of the buildings, a formality with absolutely no danger, but my most recent playthrough has gone completely the other way, like a constant and never ending battle that I just can't win.

It sounds like I'm being fussy no doubt, but when you have relentless zombie attacks every other turn, and it's winter (snow = farms don't produce food = everyone starves unless you constantly scavenge and eat your own people) it's actually impossible to get a strong foothold to develop your town again.

Massive potential and does a lot of things right, but for me it's a real disappointment...

Winter is actually a very new addition to the game via an update, and I actually disabled Winter because I didn't find it fun. It was probably in response to 1) the easy difficulty, and 2) the fact that it's really easy to collect lots of food without even really trying.

Yeah, it's a lot of fun. A shame it doesn't seem to support a gamepad since the touch controls make it harder than it should be to play...but then again, touch controls suck in general for this kind of game.

needs some work, but im loving it so far.
 
New to android - been loving Gem Miner - Dig Deeper, Puzzle and Dragon, and New Star Soccer.


I'm now subbed to this thread... and just downloaded about 5 games blindly based off of recommendations on the last few pages. I'm on a rooted Note 2.
 
Ugh was on level 14 on Dungelot and it just randomly crashed. Lost my progress. Was so close to unlocking the second class.

It worked with my moga using the universal drivers. The jump/attack buttons weren't the ones I'd have chosen, but it worked fine.

I actually don't mind the touch controls for the game. The only problem is that I started it on my old phone and got a new one with a larger screen last week. My muscle memory keeps making me miss the buttons.

The vamp sucks. Honestly by the time I was able to unlock him, my Pali was a damn beast, just kept on pushing with him instead.

Yeah no idea why thats happening. I bought it tight before the year started and i just beat it last night. Great racing game. Well worth the dollar I paid for. A bit grindy but thats the fun of racing.
 
So I got Farming Sim just for the heck of it, while it seems to work okay (looks like a very trimmed down version of what I've seen on the Yogscast, fewer crops, smaller map, simpler physics, etc) I'm kinda annoyed by the lack of equipment upgrades, each item is only avalable in a basic and a better form and almost all the better forms need to be unlocked with IAPs (that cost almost as much as the whole game did in the first place) so there's very little gear you could put that money towards.

Lol yeah I think I'll keep rolling the pali. Only bothered to use the vamp like twice.

I'd just like to + one on Cytus being pretty amazing. If you're in to rhythm games, you'll love it.

On that note, are there any other good rhythm games out there?

Any chance you are referring to the pen? Says it is compatible with my international note 2 but haven't bought it yet.
