Android |OT8| ConFuchsia say beta is better

Since I updated to EMUI 5.0 some months ago, everytime I turn Airplane mode off, it turns on the blue tooth. It's a little thing but it annoys me SO much. Then I have to get to the bluetooth menu, because the shortcut doesn't work right after.

Asia loves some weird shit, man.
Cute girls singing and dancing = weird shit?

Mmm, ok.

Oneplus 3 closed beta is on oreo. Open beta for 3 and 5 in September.

Stable final build probably November latest?

Every Google phone goes to shit over time though. LG made pixel 2 xl gonna boot loop in a few years.

3-4 years option is basically iphone only.

Why not get cheaper phones and upgrade more frequently?
I really want to stick with Android but maybe an iPhone would be a better investment for a long term phone. I'd rather get a phone and have it perform smooth for 3 to 4 years. All I do is web browse and use different apps. I don't play any games.

As Jeffery mentioned, it makes more sense to spend $200 on a phone that will last you two years than $800 on a phone that will last you four years, especially if you won't be doing anything too powerful on it.

But I want the brightest and shiniest!

I wonder what phone would be good. I mean, on a Nexus 6 right now so I wouldn't want to downgrade in some aspects.

$200 phones web browse as good as $800 phones lol.

Sd625 family is really good on performance and battery!

Also kinda hard to beat nexus 6 these days surprisingly. 1440p 6" amoled screen and headphone jack is better than most stuff lol.

Y'all know of any good deals on a 1+3 or 3T?

They aren't making them anymore. So you're SOL unless you find somewhere like eBay trying to get rid of stock.

Most of the marketplace entries on Amazon have gone up in price.

Unlike Samsung or LG there isn't a ton of excess stock lying around that people need to move.

My wifes phone wont run any apps. If she tries to launch an app she gets the message "unfortunately blank has stopped working". I have cleared the cache, I have restarted her phone, I have run avast and Malware Bytes. We are at our wits end. I ran a RAM cleaner, I moved all the photos off her phone. I have spent the entire night searching for any thing I can to fix it. Her phone is a Droid Maxx 2. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this, and how to fix it? We are considering buying a new phone since we cant figure out how to fix this. I don't want to do a factory reset if there is any other way to fix this problem.

Where did you delete the cache? You could try rebooting in to the recovery partition and empty the caches there.

Aiii

So not worth it
Just installed Oreo on my Galaxy Tab S2 (LineageOS 15.0 unofficial) so I could use LDAC on my Sony MDR-1000X's finally.

It's definitely a great update. So snappy, loving the little UI changes and the things they "borrowed" from iOS like badges and icon-menu's. Good stuff, well done Google.

I'm actually really surprised the OP forums didn't explode when the images of the OP3 was getting Oreo via closed beta.

Hopefully we don't have to wait long for it, the OP3/T will get it first via open beta and I'll be getting my popcorn ready for when that happens.

For what? Don't think they have a beta branch for op5 yet. I assume we can expect similar time window for open beta for all 3 phones.

Have you seen the OP forums? They don't run on logic. Normal people like is understand it's a beta that's why it has it but the majority of people on there won't see it that way and probably shit post like crazy.

And no the OP5 doesn't have a beta branch yet and iirc OP said there wouldn't be until the OP betas stop.

Another reason I want a flagship is for VR. So I'm guessing a Samsung phone or wait on Pixel ? Google has their own VR thing right?

Yes. Daydream VR. Last year's Pixels, this year's Samsung flagships, and the LG v30 support Daydream. Samsung's phones also have Gear VR (Oculus) support.

have VR headsets improved in terms of clarity?

I have the white Gear VR (2015). I got over the fact that I could see pixels, but I felt like the actual sharpness could have been improved

why does my Samsung Gear Fit 2 have a better data backup and restore solution than Android Wear devices?

and last year it didn't have one. i had to set up my Fit 2 3x as i went thru the 2 Note 7s and finally the Note 5.

Flossy with the quick 30 minute unboxing. Gonna skip specs yet itemizes each spec to say they’re all top of the line.

Was about to post this.

Quick unboxing.... 30 mins lol

Edit: OMG 30 secs in and I'm dying.

Galaxy Fireball 7 we back! Lol

Edit: Wesley Snipes version ded

That shows it is faster than the G4 Plus with the same cores though?

That's the whole point. It's A53 cores, but the node shrink means they can bump the clock. Hence the performance gains? It's virtually the same chip at the 617, but the node shrink meant higher clocks.

Idk what you are even arguing anymore. Not to mention we never ever saw $200 phones with this performance.

I also didn't pick and choose. Ars is the only site that does comprehensive benchmarks, and those were overall benchmarks not just kraken.
It is faster than the G4 plus, but way slower than 835.

The same

We kinda did though. The Nexus 5 was 300 and had a top of the line SoC. Similarly the OnePlus One. That's the point of the Nexus 5 comparison. With normal progression there shouldn't be any competition, 2017 should smoke anything from 2013 because it's 5 years newer.

I use tongue emoji soften tone; joke. I didn't mean it directly, but that the bench showed favorable results that made it look similar to 835 which I don't think is representative. They were multicore benches. They're not useless, far from it, but as you said single threaded is very important for general speed and webpage bogged down with heavy scripting still brings a lot of phones to their knees and is a real world task. iirc geekbench is also one where A53 does comparatively well. Not sure exactly why, but pretty sure crypto plays a role.

I'm not arguing A53 at 2Ghz isn't faster than A53 at 1.4Ghz, of course it is. I'm arguing it's still a lot slower than a big core like the one found inside 660 and 835.

Am I missing something, or is there no way to map a Google Drive folder to my phone that is accessible from the file system?

I basically want a Google Drive folder full of epubs that can be accessed by Cool Reader on my phone.
