According to Wood Hawker from the Beatemups Youtube channel a new Animal Crossing game for Switch 2 (2026 title) is going to be announced next month in a Nintendo Direct alongside Methaphor: ReFantazio for Switch 2 (Keycard) a Upgrade for The Witcher 3 for Switch 2, Death Stranding Director Cut S and others third party games. Pokemon Colosseum for GC + Prime 4 release date. As always take this like a grain of salt.

Animal Crossing next title will have that Switch 2 stock being depleted constantly for a long time. Nintendo would only need that and Mario next year and that would be it.

I love Animal Crossing.

I saw this clip earlier, and I just don't buy it. His entire list has powerful "fake 4chan leak" vibes.

It feels like someone with no insider information tried to think of a few games that could plausibly come to the Switch 2, blurted out the first four or five that came to mind and left it at that.

This is one of my least favorite kind of leaks, because it manages to seem both boring and implausible. On the one hand, there's zero overlap with games that we know about from more reputable leakers (like RDR2) or publicly available information (CoD), while, on the other, there's nothing particularly weird or surprising (like a blue ocean title or an unexpected take on a dormant IP). Just a bunch of painfully safe lies.

I'm sorry but every time I see a Youtuber put goofy face on their thumbnail I refuse to watch it.

Why the fuck that has become a thing on Youtube?

A new Animal Crossing game would get me to buy a Switch 2, it's that simple.

Definitely a system seller for me along with a -new- Zelda.

yeah, they didn't really support new horizons a lot and I'm pretty sure they instead started working on a new game for switch 2

Unless they plan to support it well throughout the lifespan of the Switch 2, I don't think this year is the right time to release it.
The Nintendo strategy is to move hardware fast, that's why they released the console with a new Mario Kart game… A new Animal Crossing game is going to move tons of units and is in line with their strategy.

I know right? It make me want to punch their face.

There has be better way to get "clicks" than this shit.

Dreamcastguy thumbnails for his youtube videos was enough for me to unsubscribe to him a long time ago. I HATE when youtuber do that. Mutahar is another one I unsubscribed a long time ago due to his thumbnails

I know there are people here who are not fan of Easy allies but look at their thumbnails.

Is simple and to the point, why can't other YouTubers do this?

That was my thought as well. Animal Crossing was always a weird / somewhat niche franchise until New Horizons came along during the pandemic, where it became the second best-selling game of all time on Switch 1, behind only Mario Kart. It sold almost 50 million copies.

Would make sense that Nintendo would prioritize a Mario Kart sequel first, then follow it up with a sequel to the second best-selling game the following year.

What? AC sold 13 Million on 3DS and 12 Million on DS… That's not niche at all.

I have 900 hours in on Animal Crossing for the Switch and still regularly play Animal Crossing for the GameCube and 3DS. This would get me into a Switch 2

OK maybe niche is the wrong word. Anecdotal for me personally, but New Horizons feels like the entry that made the series go "Mainstream". I had people (normies) at work talking to me about it. I'd see soccer moms playing while waiting for their kids to finish practice. There were a ton of news articles (ie free publicity) talking about how it was all the rage.

The timing with covid was pretty crazy. It was very calming to play that game during an unknown pandemic. I wonder what Nintendo has been cooking up in their Wuhan labs this time.

How a thumbnail image can trigger a full grown adult?… Some of you are weird 😂
Because it's narcissistic. Take GMTK for example. He has 233 videos but only 10 feature his face as the thumbnail and he doesn't show his face at all in many of his videos. Now look at this dude's channel. His face is in every thumbnail.

Nintendo knows they've got people by their metaphorical balls when it comes to Animal Crossing, and you can bet they are lacing that next title with all those sweet additives like nothing to have it last a long ass time, raking in all that sweet money.

Animal Crossing is easily in the top 4 for guaranteed system sellers.

Mario next – Summer 2026

Animal Crossing next – Fall to Holiday 2026

It needs real online this time, we're on our way to 2026, there is no reason to maintain friends only online.

Learned that game key card games can be traded in! Didn't know that and super excited about that I get the best of both worlds. I can collect boxes, I can install digital so I don't have to swap constantly, and I can sell them!

Why all the hate? I'm going to be getting game cards from now on!!

Wait does each game key card come with a pj
Physical card that has to be inserted so I still have to swap? Or does one dummy card work for all of them??
