Joan currently has turnips for sale in my town for the lowest (90 bell) price, is it possible for me to invite people over so they can buy at that price? Or does that not work?

So long as you're monitoring prices diligently from Tuesday until Friday (or whenever you elect to sell), turnip sprees are ALWAYS worth it.

You can always register a couple more people in your town. Even if they don't expand their houses, they have lockers, too.
