As a big fan of the original stuff, I know they riffed on a lot of big names.
But Hulu are opting to put very specific riffs into their trailer.
That doesn't bode well.

You know what's really shit? I loved this show growing up. But now that it will no doubt be filled with woke shit, I have no interest.
And I can't even let my son watch when he's older (he's still a baby) because I don't trust that there won't be woke, SJW propaganda in it that I don't want him getting brainwashed with.

Ah! It's just one line. Not every joke on the original landed, either. The ridiculousness is what made me a fan of the show. Some of the jokes weren't funny back then either. But I still loved it!
I am all about giving things a chance rather than outright rejecting them because of cynicism. "this trailer didn't live up to my already high expectations, therefore it must be bad so I'm not watching it" ... And I'm not just talking about this thread or forum but A LOT of people are like this... I guess I can't understand it and I'm glad I don't.

Forgive me if I am skeptical. It is hard for me to watch modern shows because I hate being preached at about dumb shit the entire time. Seeing them already doing it in the trailer is less than encouraging. It already seems like Dot is going to be written as third wave feminist so...yeah.

A lot of things poke fun at both the right and left but for some reason people turn up their victim complex when something they support is joked about. Same thing happened the other week with Bill Burr, it even surprised me that most here enjoyed it!

Dot has always been a dominating self absorbed hypocrite. Her using the term in the manner she did is perfectly in line with her character despite her actions going counter to that lyric.
It is a clear jab at the term using the character they would be best suited to mock it.
It being known as an incredibly cringy term only further boosts the comedic effect. We laugh at cringy shit all the time to the point comedians and writers have been putting it purposefully into their material for years now.

Now I will say there is something for a sexy woman who can put a man in his place, but if it's done in a snide way it won't be fun. As for the Blackpink sexy nurse - I really don't understand where this stuff comes from. Most women want to be sexy - they enjoy the power it gives them over men. Girls even in their mid-teens will go out at Halloween in outfits designed more to titillate than to scare, it's part of their self-discovery and part of being female. Women learn that men think with their dicks and they enjoy the ability to get men to do anything they want. Most of the objections I suspect are from male feminists, with a few land-whales thrown in for good measure as they've never had that experience. It's all just so tiring.

But I will say it's a good show. If you can ignore the political side there's loads to like. I've watched 5 episodes with I guess 15 short stories and they only obviously did it twice or maybe three times.
They don't do the mansplaining stuff as much as people were saying.

I got deflated on this show as soon as I saw it was only 13 episodes without any side characters. It feels like producers or show runners or whatever are just asking for audiences not to bother investing time into their shows until they're canceled + have a sufficient amount of content to watch.
