She's just very unlikable. Keeps starting shit with people and ends up taking the L almost all the time.

edit: That Hot 97 video is getting a shit ton of views and likes. The age of the coli militant is upon us.

Oh no. Someone in the music or movie industry probably did something horrible to get there. This is news that will clearly flip our society upside down.

Oh wow I'm watching the Banks interview she calls TI a "shoe shining coon" omfg really

hahhahahahahaa
Lmao she tried to clear a remix of Harlem Shake for her album and got mad when it didn't go through? I WONDER WHY

When will the Ls end?

Also when she gets denied something she goes 0-100% revenge mode real quick, like clockwork.

i like the realness of banks though. you dont see that much now in days.
She should go on the Breakfast Club. I guess she refuses to because they've had Iggy on since the beginning of her career.

In this conversation. What do you think about Q-Tips words to Igloo Australia?

I think it was a great attempt at eloquating why many are angry about her success without wording it in a way that would elicit defensiveness from Iggy.

That said, I don't expect any sort of satisfying response from Igloo.

Anonymous gave Iggy a warning, telling her that they have enough material of her to make the Bill Cosby incident look like a joke in comparison.
The fuck does this even mean? lol. Even if they have the tape of her having consensual sex, how does that make the Bill Cosby incidents look like a joke?

Man, Q-Tip put it down TBH. No more need to talk about appropriation, I think he's hit the nail on the head when it comes to respect.

Classy and eloquent to be sure - you don't change hearts and minds with personal attacks.

Whilst I think some of the vehemence shouldn't have been pointed directly at Iggy, who in a lot of respects is just someone playing the game, it would do her good to meditate over this and I guess what a lot of people want is just for her to acknowledge publicly that she's doing well in what is not a fair race. If nothing else it might give her something better to write about.

Can someone explain the whole Iggy/appropriation thing?

I think I've only seen part of one of her videos. Seems like your standard manufactured rap/pop (?) star. And she's not that attractive...

Baauer and diplo told her that the track is reserved for another rapper and she lashed out at diplo, and she used to pose for magazines with that guy:

I think some black people in the hip hop industry are having meltdowns because a white woman has become successful and famous. I only know Iggy because she is Australian.

I think the general feeling is that rap fans are upset that white artists like Iggy Azalea are receiving all these accolades, and are being throned kings and queens of rap -- by people who don't really listen to the genre, and shouldn't be making assessments about things like who released the best rap album of the year. Before this drama revolving around Iggy's success, we had egregious shit like Macklemore utterly sweeping the Grammy's the year Kendrick Lamar released his universally acclaimed album, Good Kid, M.A.A.D. City. The result was so fucked up that Macklemore himself acknowledged it afterwards.

I prefer to ignore these people entirely, and the irrelevant awards they put out, but it's not nearly as easy to ignore if you're an artist competing for the attention and the success. This doesn't excuse Banks going absolutely fucking bonkers over it and taking shots at the artists themselves, of course.

Where's the Australian accent? Where's the Australian slang? Where's any overt or direct reference to Australian culture/experience?

She reminds me of a particularly rancid skidmark we have in the UK called Professor Green, he (used to) rap about the "streets" with a fake Jamaican accent when he came through. He's a white guy from Croyden.

Audible excrement the pair of them.

So he's like Sean Paul then?

Have you listened to any of her music? Her first single, Work, is pretty much the story of her life in Australia and how she got from there to here.

Besides that, she lives in the US now. Has lived in the US for almost a decade, and the US is where she made most of her connections and started branching out culturally. So I don't know why you need her to rap about Australia...
