As there are quite a few Kraftwerk lovers here, I decided to start another thread. Just got "Minimum Maximum" - the newest album. It's 'only' a Live album - their first live album ever released in the 30 years of Kraftwerk pioneering the electronic music sector.

And what an album it is!

Some rearrangements here and there bring some fresh air to their performance, but still it is still pure Kraftwerk power. For beginners this could be the perfect album to get into the sheer quality of Kraftwerk songs, since it's covering nearly all of the most important songs Kraftwerk released. Some of them, like Numbers (recorded in San Francisco) are so overwhelmingly beautiful, it's such a pleasure to listen.

I really enjoyed "Dentaku" which was performed in Tokyo - the Japanese crowd singing along to the lyrics in Japanese. So great!

To all the Kraftwerk fans on the board: Buy it ASAP, you won't be disappointed. For all newbies interested in Kraftwerk and generally in electronic music: This 2-disc record is the best opportunity to get into the sheer joy that is Kraftwerk.

Here the track selection:

Disc: 1

1. Man-Machine
2. Planet of Visions
3. Tour de France Etape 1
4. Chrono
5. Tour de France Etape 2
6. Vitamin
7. Tour de France
8. Autobahn
9. Model
10. Neon Lights

Disc: 2

1. Radioactivity
2. Trans Europe Express
3. Metal on Metal
4. Numbers
5. Computer World
6. Home Computer
7. Pocket Calculator
8. Dentaku
9. Robots
10. Elektro Kardiogramm
11. Aero Dynamik
12. Music Non Stop

Kraftwerk Minimum Maximum

Am I the only person who thinks Computer World is their worst album (not counting Kraftwerk 1, Kraftwerk 2, and Ralf & Florian, since I've yet to hear them)?

Anyway, I've got to pick Min/Max up... but first I have to get this:

Yes, you are.

Minimum Maximum rocks. The version of The Robots on it is pretty damned amazing.
