The best part is that it's already for sale @ playasia. I'm considering it since it holds games.jenov4 said:The case that Defensor posted > all the rest posted so far.
kiryogi said:D: I want a psp case that also carries the power cord. Oh, and also to hold UMDs in a safe manner because sony was retarded to have designed them without a gate.
Dragona Akehi said:Whoa whoa whoa. NO GATE? What the fuck was Sony thinking?
I thought UMD were basically revamped MD, and MD are virtually indestructible. I can't believe UMD would be so underprotected like that. :\
I was pretty disappointed with the DS cards as well, with the exposed pins and all.
Matlock said:Maybe the gate wouldn't work with the engineering of the drive, and all.
Just brainstorming here, but the gate could be a liability as much as it is protective. Catch the edge of the gate on something and you could bend it out of place. I've certainly had it happen to me in the past with the occasional floppy disc or MD. Perhaps the protective factor isn't as great as we think? It's not like the gate actually forms an airtight seal - liquid or particulate matter could still get in the casing.Dragona Akehi said:Well from what I've seen the MD have a similar drive setup to a PSP and they use gates just fine... I still think it's very very bizarre...

Great King Bowser said:Much better than the Hori one I purchased before which got made the screen muddy, bubbled like crazy and the warped when I tried to remove the sellotape separator from it.
Why? Not arguing with you, just curious.Dragona Akehi said:DS cards are going to be nowhere near as durable as say, GBA carts.

I swear, the image shows two screen protector protectors, with the actual screen protector in the middle doesn't it?
If anyone wants a pic, I'll take one if they want. My paranoia at scratching and shit has no subsided.
My screen actually already had marks on it visible under certain conditions with the unit off, so I half bought the protector to make them no longer visible as well as protecting from further marking. :lol

john tv said:Koei has a new case that's pretty hot. It's not the one that comes with Shin Sangoku Musou AFAIK. It's different, and it rocks, and I aim to buy it ASAP.
Dragona Akehi said:Oh, that's because the connectors are completely exposed on the DS carts, like an SD card. With the older Nintendo cartridges, at least it was protected by an overhang. With the DS carts, it'll be really easy for the connector pins to get physically damaged (scratches, etc) which would be almost impossible if it had a "traditional" cart design from Nintendo. Those could get dirty, but it'd be really hard to physically damage the pins. So, that kinda sucks.
