Another Xbox 360 pic?

I'm guessing the movable parts are that chrome color. I really hope that the chrome part in the other picture, which would be at the top of this design, is meant for charging the controllers. I certainly don't want to have to buy batteries for the controllers. So if that eliptical chrome piece somehow pops out and connects to the controllers that would be good.

I really want a hard drive and I'm not too crazy about cordless controllers. My TV is less than 5 feet away so it's f'n pointless for me. Now I have to spend money on freaking batteries? What stupid shit...

I hear you, man. It IS bullshit. A system that needs batteries?! Come on! The people I play in halo arent that good at keeping up with their stuff, so I can already see moments where a few controllers die because someone forgot to charge up/keep fresh bats in their second or third controllers.

And yeah, batteries cost about 5 bucks. Cheap, but not for me. I just dont want to spend extra to play a system. Its insane.

But hey, I know NOTHING of what ms plans to do with controllers charges and stuff so I cant bitch too much.

Holy damn!Batteries cost like 5 bucks and last hours upon hours :lol

I've only put like 2 new sets of batteries in my Wavebird and I play it quite a bit...
Wired controllers are less expensive to start and then you can put that 5 bucks to better use. I've stop using my Wavebirds because I'm tired of changing the batteries, they're now just used when people are over.

I sure hope none of the next-gen console's controllers are wireless only. Wireless controllers have their advantages, but its also nice not having to worry about dead batteries, weak signals, interferance, and sleeping recievers.

perhaps the controllers have plugs that go into the system to charge.

maybe thats what the bottom compartment is for??

If the controllers are, indeed, wireless-only - then I wonder if they will have force-feedback.
If the batteries use built-in lithium batteries, that solves the 'I have to buy new batteries' problem...but then what happens when your controller runs out of power? You stop playing and plug it in for a few hours?

id say its OK. not great but definitely not bad. if its real im dissapointed theres a tray and its not slot loading.

oo the puzzle is coming together...

does that say '40GB' on the side of that? is it the removable drive they where talking about?

also the eject button is different, but it looks very very close... close enough that i would say the original picture is a concept render, and the one above is a picture of the real thing.

The hi-res shots are obviously computer renders. There's likely to still be tweaking going on at this point in the game.

How about just keeping the controllers in a recharger when you're not playing.

i'm not worried about the wireless controllers. i'm worried about the wireless networking. wireless has got to be one of the least reliable things on earth. i'm hoping they give us a choice..wired/wireless

still seems pretty big?

it looks just a little taller than xbox, a little shorter in length... cannot really say about depth

one thing is for sure

it looks fucking awesome

ok so 2 pictures of the system. 1 is shiny/metallic silver, the other is a dull plastic. then theres pictures of the remotes and thats a shiny white....somethings not right here. maybe thats MS's way of saying theres going to be an assortment of controller colors right off the bat?

on the plus side

seems smaller than the current Xbox
looks like wireless controllers will be the norm

on the negative

bland, generic design
looks like a cheap wal-mart dvd player

Just had a thought of why these two pics are different. remember, some people won't HAVE the hardrive (if indeed there is one), so for them, they have a blank cover on the hardrive bay:

This would explain why there's no information inscribed on the metal plate--it's just a cover/spacer. meanwhile, for those who DO have the harddrive:

it is also possible that that is not an engraving of 40gb, but possibly (?) a digital display of how much free space is left. That would certainly lend to it being a portable unit of some kind (IE, and I'm going out on a limb here, if it WERE a digital display, when not connected to the X360, it could display, oh, song/mp3 information? )

Heh. sorry. Speculating at 12:30 am ain't too healthy, I know :lol

EDIT: evidently, I am not alone in that assumption!

A WINNAR IS YOU!!

Walmart where, on the fucking moon? :lol I don't care for the concept renders, but if this is indeed part of the real thing, then fuck, this doesn't look like no dvd-player . . .

i think they mean this shot of it...

im convinced MS "leaks" certain media and info on purpose...the question is why?

is it really worth all the early feedback?
