i can sing a song in dutch... but i only know it phonetically. does that count?

i also used to know some muslim prayer off-by-heart phonetically, but that's another story.

I'm learning Dutch and I have to learn to say something this week, if I get it wrong I'm screwed, I know how to type it it's just I'm going wrong with the pronounciation

Well... type it out so we can help you.

I don't think anyone will laugh as our language is pretty hard for most foreign people

And in case this hasn't been solved yet or you should need some more help, I speak Dutch as well, so just let me know what you need! Also, I know English phonetics, if that helps :)

Dutch is hard. I'm so happy most of the people over here in Amsterdam speak English. :lol

Onlly know a few words/phrases and I have no desire to learn more:

Alles goed?
Goedemorgen
Goedemiddag
Goedenavond
Goedenacht
Alstublieft, Alsjeblieft(I know I'm not spelling them right, but what's the difference between the two?)
Lekker

The difference is that you can say 'alsjeblieft' to people familiar to you, but you should say 'alstublieft' to people that are older than you, you don't really know (like someone who helps you in a store) or people you respect.

This rule is a bit out-dated though, most people just say alsjeblieft all the time, just like 'dankuwel' en 'dankjewel'. You should learn more Dutch though!

Actually it's the other way around, 'bedankt' is less formal then 'dank u wel'. I guess it must be funny for English speakers that 'U' is the Dutch (formal) word for 'You' :).
