My favs are probably Costa Rica and the Norwegian Mountain episodes.

One of the few shows these days I can still watch reruns and not get bored. One of my all-time favorite shows.

I think he's doing ok. His son had cancer, but never saw an update on his son.

His son had cancer when he was filming the show mid-way through. He has since had his son on the show (Survivorman & Son) and he seems fine so I think it's all good.

Les is actually focusing on YouTube now and is starting a new show about cooking with exotic and wild ingredients. Sadly it doesn't seem like he is much interested in doing survival runs anymore, probably due to fame and age.




By the way he has uploaded tons of directors commentary episodes from classic episodes in the original seasons. HIGHLY recommend watching if you're looking for a fix. Here is the link to the playlist.

I liked the isolation and realism of the episodes. He probably had some sort of emergency communication though, I don't remember.

On the other hand, Bear Grylls was like "I muss drink me own urine to live!", despite the camera crew offering him bottled water.
