I got to meet Kid Congo Powers (and Flesh Eaters frontman Chris D., who produced Fire of Love and did vocals on a one-off Gun Club reunion a couple years back) a couple days ago, so I've been on a big Gun Club kick today.
Fire of Love is honestly one of my favorite albums ever, a twisted punk-blues that a thousand Jack Whites could never hope to replicate - there ain't a White Stripes song that even comes close to the demented fury of Sex Beat or She's Like Heroin To Me.
So yeah, if you're in this thread and don't know about The Gun Club, go get Fire of Love and Larger Than Live, a way-posthumous archival live album from the band's peak. Do it now, bastards.
