Naked Gun Trailer - August 1st.

After watching the mostly terrible 1000 Ways to Die in the West, I'm now fully convinced Neeson can't do comedy (and Seth McFarlane is clearly gay. Come out of the closet already dude. Jesus).

if nothing else, at least the posters are great

Liam is taken, taken was a really big franchise. The commuter, unknown, cold pursuit there's different movies that are good action.

Damn, was NOT expecting this to actually review well, regardless if it was actually funny or not.

So is that because it is a true classic or just that it dunks on Trump so much that critics just can't help themselves? McFarlane humor never seems to jive with critics so I'm having some cognitive dissonance.

Yeah, nice that its reviewing well but my sense of humour is vasty different from the usual shite these days.

If its as stupid as the OG then I'm in.

Watched it.

It's alright, there are some sections that genuinely feel like they'd fit right in the originals, but for the most part the writing feels more like you're watching a parody of naked gun, like scary movie.

It just really shows how good the writing was for those movies and how great leslie nielsen was at what he did.

We watched it yesterday and had a blast. I didn't expect much too be honest but I can't remember the last time I laughed this much at the movies. It's not as great as the original, but it's a lot of fun and I encourage everyone to go and see it.

OK I absolutely loved this. I was worried they would tarnish the greatness of the original show / movies, but (in my opinion) they just built onto the series legendary legacy. Liam Neeson was a lot better than I thought he would be in the role. Genuine laugh out loud moments throughout, and (like the originals) it's pretty densely packed with sight gags.

I'm definitely going to need to watch this another dozen times or so.

i can see it one of the movies where the sequel is better than the first, they need to build the framework and goodwill and just jump right from the beginning in the next one

I went for the audience reactions. A half full theater was the biggest I could get. I forgot I don't usually watch more than 10 minutes of a naked gun movie. The few times I laugh isn't really worth all the misses.

Liam Neeson's scene in Ted was my favorite gag in that movie. So getting him for this seemed like a good idea, but the whole movie didn't really land too much for me. That's more my problem with the franchise though.

There were some isolated moments that were quite funny, but they were ruined by the really dumb and unfunny sections. It was a very mixed experience that went from pretty good to fairly awful every 10 minutes. Liam should not do comedy, but beyond that some of the writing was stuff that would only seem clever to someone in elementary school. Just to give you a sense:

At one point Liam is monologuing about Pamela and hot she is, with lines like "her body looked like it was meant to carry her head, and her butt said "hey I'm a talking butt".

Movie is full of crap like this.

Went to see it, great modern take, not too rehashy but respectful. Holds up to the originals. Hope they make more.

It had some moments that gave me a chuckle, and I had one LOL moment.
Movie is full of crap like this.
Yeah, far too much of it.

Could really feel Liams "effort", to the point of distraction, in trying to play the character straight.
Leslie was just straight.

Absolutely had a solid, fun time with this one. This would be great if it means good parody movies can return, as Friedberg and Seltzer had murdered that genre with their horse shit they put out.

Saw it. Pretty meh. The first half was actually decent, then it went bad towards the end.
What worked: Neeson's casting was spot on, and the general feeling of the original movies (which I loved) was preserved - e.g. through Drebin's wacky monologues.
What didn't: not enough gags per minute. Not enough GOOD gags in total (we laughed out loud maybe 5 times during the whole movie; the further the worse it got). For instance, the TiVo joke was painfully long and unfunny, and the seat joke was a poor attempt at wordplays.

Thought Neeson was a great pick for this as soon as they announced it. The only other person that I thought might be able to do it would be Harrison Ford, but 10-15yrs ago.

I went to see it yesterday about 10:00 a.m... perfect time to catch such a movie because the entire theater was all mine.. movie was absolutely hilarious.. I knew Liam neeson would kill in the role. He just has to play the same character. He plays in his serious movies but with silly dialogue.. I like that it had a mix of the old school naked gun style humor with also some more modern humor to cater to both audiences. The only criticism I have is that they show some of the other characters briefly, but they don't play much of a role in the overall story which detracts from it a little bit.

Movie was hilarious at times and mostly kept the fun going throughout. Some scenes had my audience still laughing 30 seconds after they had finished. Highly recommend this, cheap night Tuesdays would be a great time to catch it with more people to see it with.

Thought this was a solid comedy that did a good job of continuing on from the originals. It avoided the pitfalls of too many cameos or being too self referential. There weren't constant call backs or parodies of other movies which was what I feared.
There were jokes that didnt hit for me, but that has always been the case with these types of movies.

My son picked me up a poster, I love it

Watched it Friday and it was absolutely hilarious. It had the same dumb random humor as the originals, it really was a funny movie. The manslaughter part and "take a chair" part both made me laugh the most. Random coffee hand was great as well.

Watched it yesterday, was quite fun and it did replicate the kind of humor of that type of movies well, imho. The only thing i didn't really like was the scene also seen in the trailer (well, putting in spoiler just in case)
Rather than having the little girl remove the mask and basically transforming into Liam Neeson, i would have preferred them playing it straight and make Liam enter there dressed as a little girl with nobody noticing the improbable disguise. Albeit maybe it was done on purpose to break any suspension of disbelief one could have had to begin with.

Have not watched any trailers but the first 2 naked guns are among the funniest films of all time in my opinion. Was expecting to be severely disappointed but the film is great, lots of laughs and Neeson is a great fit. Really exceeded my expectations and well worth a watch.

It was okay, I feel like even if it's a parody spoof, doesn't mean the actual plot doesn't have to be boring. I swear this is like the 3rd or 4th time they used this doomsday plot in movies. basically Kingsman? Really?

Just watched this and thought it was a lot of fun. Neeson's straight man act is a bit different than Leslie's but I'm glad they went with what was natural for him and played off of his recent action roles, rather than trying to copy what came before 1:1.
