I want all the episodes uncut. :(

I mean, if you know the inside joke , I have Citizen Kane on DVD, but because of endless legal limbos, one of America's most influencal and popular cartoons ever is still not on DVD and maybe never will :(

So far, all we have got on DVD from this great TV show is three crappy Time Life releases compilations from 1998, barebones, without the music videos. That's the hardest pill to swallow for me: you've got to include the music videos! Nothing ever made me laugh so hard in my life. Seeing Yanni, Kris Kross, Boy George, and coutless other lame artists or bands getting the MST3K treatment, that was just so fun! Paramount released a compilation (without the music videos again, such a crime), but then they had to recall all copies because of a song royalty problem in an episode. They go into the hundreds of dollars on Ebay now. My friend got one before the moratory and made me view it, but that made me want a royal treatment for this cartoon.

Anyone knows exactly why they aren't put out? I guess it is because of music royalties issues over the costs of music in the shows or music videos, or maybe the Kris Kross dudes have put up an injunction? :lol

So many times when I would see a pathetic nonsense music video, I'd wonder what it would be if Beavis and Butthead were still alive and on the air today. I mean, when I saw the first Linkin Park music video (One Step Closer) I was like "WTF is that?", and then that made me think of similar lame metal bands with the wisecracking comments by these pernicious guys. I ROTFLAMO!

At least I got to see some of it. But the broadcasts are now over since a long while, and it's not gonna come out any day soon. I got to see again many golden moments. My favorites were with the hippy teacher Bradley Buzzcut. Do you remember the moment were he exploded in hatred towards the dudes because they were not allowed to laugh and he tried to make them fail? So many golden quotes. :)

Last time they aired a marathon, I'd hoped someone would make a torrent of it, but alas, it was not to pass.

Does the DVD have the infamous "fire" line? I know that episode was banned after some mouth breather burned his trailer down and blamed it on the show.

No Music Videos = No Sale for me though.

Actually, that's a bold face lie. I'd still buy it if it ever came out.

Buzzcut: So, Beavis and Butt-head, I understand Mr. McVicker has made a little arrangement with you guys. Yeah, a little probation. You see, class, Beavis and Butt-head here are not allowed to laugh for a whole week. That's right, and if they do laugh they'll be expelled, and they'll have to go to Hope High School where they'll get their asses kicked on a daily basis by all the other delinquents.
(Buzzcut and the other students laugh; Beavis and Butt-head try to hold it in)
Buzzcut: Well, I was real glad to hear that, because this is sex education week. That's right, sex ed week. We're gonna be talkin' about the PENIS! We'll be talkin' about the VAGINA! Do you think that's funny, Butt-head? Do you find it amusing that we'll be talkin' about the TESTICLES? Yes, we're also gonna be talkin' about VENEREAL DISEASE! SEXUAL INTERCOURSE! And we will definitely be spending a lot of time talking about MASTURBATION!
(Beavis and Butt-head struggle to hold in their laughter)

This is a CRIME I tell you that some of the funniest moments of TV such as this one are not available on DVD. ;)

Could you edit this out of your post? That was gonna be my joke, and then the next ten posts would be nothing but :lols.

In the first place I was about to put Seven Samurai in the original thread, it would have been harder to find a link between the two, for some reason I went with Orson Welles. :)

Of course tvrip groups probably have ripped all of it into VCD or something, but I don't want to go on with piracy for this show. Commentary by Mike Judge would me nice too.

I deemed myself as a traitor when I realized I pre-ordered the history of Beavis and Butthead, which was just a 2-disc set. Fortunately, Paramount put the moratory.

That's a good question, unfortunately I don't remember. I watched the OOP 2-disc set, and if I recall correctly that segment was not even included. I guess nothing would prevent it from being included nowadays tough.

You could watch it on MTV2

If I was american. :(

And I said because it was recalled so fast, because of a problem with the royalties in one song of an episode. The cost (that's for a compilation, without any music video) must be so friggin' huge that Paramount could not afford it anymore.
