Any last minute predictions on how well Fallout 4 will rate critically?

Christ the amount of salt in here could incite major kidney failures. Some people can't handle that people enjoy these games for what they are without half a dozen mods can they? The holier than thou attitude is pathetic.

If 9 isn't the first number of the score I will be surprised. Whether or not it actually deserves that score is another story.

Fallout 3 was incredibly flawed and got 91
New Vegas was a masterpiece and got 84

i'm predicting 92 for this one and be worse than 3.

I'll go with 90.

Just below this year's top scorers, but will still nab plenty of awards come the end of the year. After all, the game with the best Metacritic score doesn't always win the most GOTY awards.

Low 90s. It not a media darling like Halo, but FO3 was well received and the game is probably an expected GOTY candidate by those who follow the industry.

90-94 on Metacritic.

Actually wouldn't shock me if it dipped into the 80's. I feel like reviewers these days are slightly more critical than they used to be, so if it feels like Fallout 3.5 or is a mess technically it might get some ...get ready....7's and 8's! Scary!

New Vegas arrived a year after Fallout 3. Fallout 3 was flawed but it was new. Critics were less forgiving I feel like with Fallout 3 v2: New Vegas edition, and the reviews showed. A decent story and slight tweaks couldn't change that.

If New Vegas was actually the first Fallout from Bethesda. . .it's score would have been reflected.

Fallout 4 is going to hit 90+ Metacritic easily. Bethesda doesn't make "bad" games. Games with technical issues sure. However the vast majority of people overlook it because no one seems to be able to do open world RPG like Bethesda. Oblivion, FO3 and Skyrim have cemented this. Each iteration just get's better; I do not doubt Howard when he says this is their "biggest" game to date. Given that he said the same thing about Skyrim. . .yeah.

I'm hoping it gets high marks for its graphics for all the jimmies that would rustle. I'd be surprised if it averages below 90.

avg. around 93

Comment that will be common among reviewer:
- I spent 100/200/300 hours, and i barely scratch the surface
- There's so much quest
- I spent many time crafting and perfecting my town
- There's a few bug, but it didn't stop me from playing
- This game is massive, a new standard in open world RPG
- A major upgrade to fallout 3
- A masterpiece, GOTY candidate
- Immersive

yup.

and when I play it I will probably notice what I noticed in Skyrim:

- mediocre combat
- no feedback when hitting enemies or while getting hate and that makes the combat even worse and boring
- uninspired enemies and monsters design
- bland environment and world design with the exception of few locations
- many bugs

this will probably be my last Bathesda game. if I got bored and didn't finish it I won't be hyped for the next TES or the next Fallout.

Once the dust settles, I'm placing bets that it's open world and combat will be unfavorably compared to that of The Witcher 3.

91. And I don't think the game will be as buggy as many are claiming because the core game was done before it was announced, the last 5 months have been spent on polish.

Completely agree. I think we'll see the most polished Fallout to date, IMO.

It could suck (And I believe it will), but the likes of Renekton and plasmawave will still eat up Bethesda's bullshit because hurr surr interactivity or whatever bullshit excuse they'll make it for saying it's superior to other RPG's

If Asscreed syndicate can get 90+ with little innovation to core mechanics, I see no reason why Fallout 4 shouldn't be getting ~95 from what we have seen so far

Most critics have never played the original Fallouts and think Bethesda games have great writing, quests and stories. This game was already a success the moment it was announced, it'll get 90+ regardless of its quality, unless it's absolutely unplayable.
