So did anyone take the plunge and pick up Grand Theft UFO today?

It's Pademic, which is a plus...

But then it's Pandemic's Oz studio, which is an unknown factor.

I thought it was okay, but it didn't bring anything new to the table. Telekenetic abilities, playing as the "bad" guy - it has been done before. It seems to use the Mercenaries engine, and has that feel to it, but it's not as cool. The humor is pretty good though. It's good for a rental, or you can wait a few months and snag it cheap I bet.

picked it up last night , seemed pretty fun.

any game with a level called "Earth Women are Delicious" is a thumbs up from me.

There's apparently a game-stopping mission bug in the third city that can make it impossible to progress.

There is? Good thing I beat it then... *whew*

But other than capturing the old sci-fi movie vibe perfectly, the game doesn't do anything considerably good. The combat especially is boringly easy and the pre-release claims of GTA-like open ended play couldn't be more false. :/ Mind reading becomes a joke after the 30th time since characters repeat the same "thoughts" far too often. In addition, the powers were done much better in Psi-Ops.

Overall it's just plagued with a lot of "eh".
