Depends on the horror game. Run and hide games are barely games to me.

I admit I get scared in horror games especially the ones with good sound design but I like being scared.

Being scared is why I enjoy horror movies and games.

I don't play horror games, but I like it when regular games throws a horror element on the player. Even if it's just a cheap jump scare like the Arkham games did when Bruce's noodle is cooked with fear gas.

But its fun and andrenaline pumping especially after playing silent hill 2 remake for Ps5. And you get to appreciate great visuals and effects which is mostly found in survival horror games.
