This is a slick CD people :D . After the crap that was Electric Circus, I too, like many others, thought Common was done. But I guess Kanye (who produced every track) fixed what was wrong with him. Every song is hot (think College Dropout quality, but more soulful), but IMO the best tracks are Be, Go!, Testify and Faithful. For some, it might take a few spins to like it, but I found it a lot easier to like than the Black Album (at first - Black is a tight CD too). I know it's a lame line, but if you like hip-hop, then you'll like this CD. Only gripe with this CD is it's WAAYY too short (42.5 minutes). Still, until Late Registration drops, this is the best cd to come out this year (imo).

Deng didn't even know Common had a new cd out.

Really? Everyone and their dog was playing "The Corner" a month or so ago.

My first impressions is that it is solid. Not a big fan of Common and hated Electric Circus. A much better album than EC. Worth a buy? Nah.

It's ridiculous, people are comparing this album to albums like Reasonable Doubt and other classics. I haven't really given it much of a listen, especially the lyrics. There's no really catchy songs, but once I listen to the lyrics I'm sure I'll like it much more.

Either way, not exactly my cup of tea.

What program do you use to photoshop a picture?

Crazy. Probably because i dont listen to the radio.

Electric Circus was my first Common album and I really enjoyed it, perhaps because I hadn't heard anything from Resurrection or Like Water for Chocolate. I'm looking foward to listening to this new one, but does anyone whose already heard it think that having Kanye produce the entire album hurts it at all? Is Kanye on every single hook, or at least a good number of them? I've always liked how rap albums have had various producers, just to switch things up...

But yeah, glad to see Common droppin' and hopefully he gets some airtime and spotlight he deserves.
