I'm in the middle of setting up a website, a little project of mine that has been something I've wanted to do for a while. I have the main crux of it all set up, but I'm having a slight issue with the theme(s). The content of my site will be set up in a newspaper/magazine style, and therefore does not require a static page, unlike the majority of WordPress sites/blogs. However, no matter what dynamic theme I select, and when I choose to have the latest posts displayed, the page does not display correctly, and instead displays a load of empty boxes beneath the header and menu, then goes on to display the posts in a static list. I disabled any plugins and widgets that I thought could be producing this error, but that did nothing.

Its quite infuriating as this is the only thing holding me down now. I'm no good when it comes to CSS and all that jazz, Does anyone here have any clue what it could be?

That is strange. It's been a long while since I've messed around with Wordpress but I seem to recall having a toggle or some setting to indicate that all new posts should go on the landing page.

Looks like a theme problem. A lot of free themes are like that, they almost do what you want them to, but for that one feature that makes your site work; you need to pay up.

Do the posts have a featured image set? you had to set this manually in evey post iirc.

That bit I have sorted, with the latest posts appearing on the front page, but the page doesn't look like it should on the theme demo page. Those boxes are still there, preventing the posts from being where they should be.

Looks like a theme problem. A lot of free themes are like that, they almost do what you want them to, but for that one feature that makes your site work; you need to pay up.

It is a free theme, admittedly, and there is a 'pro' plugin that comes with the paid version. It's just weird. I had the page set-up and working fine, but now today there's these boxes that have appeared, and I can't get rid of them.

The problem isn't with the featured image. I have featured images for all posts on my site, and they work/look fine.
