Anyone here enjoying Kameo?

This was originally my most anticipated game for the 360. After playing it for more than an hour, the game seems a bit forced. I dont like that I dont know what to do without the guy telling me... I have beaten some of PoP without help, why should this be any different?

The graphics are nice, but as reviews say... this is really a beat-em up in disguise. Unless my brother really likes it... this is going back to gamerang

Oh screw-titty.

I was playing Kameo. I was five minutes in. I wanted to see if the fan noise was different in the horizontal position, so I flipped the thing over. I didn't notice, though, that I had flipped it over IN THE WRONG WAY. And it scratched my Kameo disk. And now I think it's FUBAR.

Grr. Going to boil it now.

You're joking right?

I would demand a new copy!

(of another better game)

My experience from the game doesn't reach further than the kiosk demo but from what I played, it was not a game that I would purchase at full price, let alone the sole reason for purchasing the 360.

The game doesn't look half bad, but the puzzles are extremely average and actually serve to hinder the game in this regard. The combat isn't all that great either, and the controls on a whole felt off. The game really does boil down to a beat-em-up. This is most obvious when you look at the puzzles and the platforming elements.

that's exactly how SFA felt for me

I stopped playing when I had to do something with that enemy who goes into the armored ball.

I'd imagine I have to knock him into the lava or something, but it was tedius and not fun at all.

Haven't gone back since, and don't know if/when I will.

You always sounded a bit retarded back in the PD0 threads, but you've hit an all time low in sheer stupidity.

Edit: BTW, i had a friend of mine contacting me today on messenger so i would help him out getting throught the very first level as he has to review the game for his gamesite! Looks like the game either is hard or just doesn't give you a decent tutorial.

That was the worst part of the demo for me. That's when the demo completely fell apart for me.

The easy way to beat that part is to cause the enemy to roll up into a ball, and then use Major Ruin to roll into him and knock him off the ramps that run along the outer-side of the area that you fight in. You will fly off the ramps as well, but you will go straight up and then back down again while the enemy flies off the stage. Just keep in mind, once you beat that single enemy, three more of them drop down. It becomes extremely tedious.

I had this exact same feeling, feeling forced to play it just for the sake of beating the game or having something to play.

Have to say i was really looking forward to this until playing it in the demo pods. Just seems like grabbed by the ghoolies in disguise to me. Beat up all the enemies in one area, move onto the next and repeat. But they`ve also decided to throw in some lame ass puzzles in between these sectors aswell. E.g use chilla to open gate slightly and then use plant boy to crawl underneath. Why can`t the gate just open up in the first place?

:lol :lol apparently the tutorial is just a little late:

...and this abundance of in-game practice sessions and the way they're framed breeds apathy - right from the start of the game-proper, when you're given a basic movement and attack tutorial after the prologue level...

Dude, gratuitous bullshit like this is what makes you look like a pretentious asshole.

You can check by my post history that i'm not that harsh on people. You are a specific case. :D

Better to know one's opinion directly than from others. On to Kameo.... did you get any luck by boiling the disc?

Well, either way, I admit it was a boneheaded move, but I felt it necessary to have a disk running to simulate the sound of the spinning DVD drive. My mistake was letting it fall to the side the cords let it fall, which was, of course, the wrong side. I heard a grinding and that was the end of my Kameo.

No, no luck. I am gonna pick another one up tomorrow. I have a bunch of games to trade in. I am not happy with the noise the console makes.

It's a decent game. The controls and lackluster story take you out of the experience, but the graphics are pretty and I like the powers.

Overall about a 7.8 in my book.

If you get through the initial stage, it gets better. I enjoyed it and beat it earlier today. I say its worth playing through but I understand if its not your cup of tea.

Oh and the control only sucks for some of the characters. The one Yeti guy slips and slides which makes him hard to dodge with.

I don't get how some of you are having trouble or saying it's tedious. To each his own I guess. But I found that after like 20 minutes of playing it, controlling and switching characters on the fly, pulling off moves, and finding new killing tactics was seamless. I actually thought the game was fun as hell. I've beaten it already.

If you guys are having trouble now, just wait till you get closer to the end with those big trolls with clubs with their fucking little armored minions who hardly die helping out. That was a bitch... Freeze minions, run around them, transform to plant guy, uppercut big troll, transform to ice bear dude, aim icicle, shoot him in the head in the 1 second he's stunned, avoid thawed minions, repeat....

So much multitasking, it was crazy!

Well actually, I just don't find the controls to be as responsive as they could be. I have a pretty high standard for that sort of thing.

NOO!!

NOONONONONO!!! I can't believe you actually were able to win doing that. I died like 10 times trying to do that, then I gave up and just started blowing up shit with Termite... guess what? Termites bomb causes the club troll to get HUGE stun time. Bomb him, his chin goes up, become ice bear dude, icicle icicle icicle icicle icicle (time slows down) icicleicicleicicleicicleicicle! Dead. I'm sorry you actually went through it the insanely difficult "Mr Old Fart Wizard has the answers my ASS" way.

Are you kidding me???? Jesus........ All I had to do was mortar and icicle? Genius!! I can't believe I never tried it....

That first Troll by the entrance stumped me for like 10+ deaths till I got into a quick routine. Then the second guy with tons of little trolls pissed me off to no end, then I did my technique above and just barely beat him. I would be near death, so I'd freeze them all, run to the corner and turn into the dragon, then do the infernal and set it ablaze and stand in the middle of it to regen my life to full, then do it all over again... If I had known it was that simple... I'd have an extra 5 years left on my life from the stress I would have avoided....

Yeah I didn't know the freeze thing, but I knew the bombs killed the metal guys so I was blowing them up for hearts, then I noticed the big guy was stunned. Tried it again and ... yeah man his chin just stays up for awhile.

how long should it take to beat this game?
Its not that long, 10 hours max plus little side things to do here and there. 10 hours is perfect I think, because the game ends just before it starts getting tedious.

My only problem was the final boss.
The first time you see Thorne his leg is so big Kameo mistakes it for a pillar. When you finally fight him, he's only twice Kameo's size. BIG WTF? Especially since the other bosses were huge.

I'm enjoying the game quite a bit, then again the first thing I did was shut off that lame ass hint book. Hey lets include a hint system that completely ruins every single puzzle and fight in the game.

Do yourselves a favor and shut that weaksauce shit off, the game is a lot better when you are actually solving things yourself.

I should have checked the options....having him remind me to check his stupid book, thinking I was stuck, when I was just exploring was a pain in the ass. It's not bad so far.....and it's certainly a beautiful game.

Didn't all the reviews say that after you get passed the initial stage, it becomes better. I'm sure Kasavin said that in his video review

Yeah it makes no sense. It seems the opening battle was tacked on to make the beginning better, but instead it just turned off people right away.

And the "NO!" death sequence is really annoying.

i like the game alot but again i did get it for free. definitely not worth full price but its still a good, and VERY good looking game.
