I didn't understand that ending. That movie is pretty f'ed up in general. Did that dectective(kevinbeacon) know that Jimmy killed Dave? If so, did he just decide to not tell anyone because the guy was his friend and thought he suffered enough with the lost of his daughter?

Clint said he wanted the ending to be ambiguous, but in the book, the Bacon character does go after him.

This movie got a ton of praise but I didn't think it was as great as the critics made it sound.

I think he knew that Jimmy killed Dave but he didn't have any proof so he couldn't do anything about it. Anyways, I have the DVD, freaking awesome movie.

yeah i just watched it on HBO a couple weeks ago.. Strange movie, especially the ending. Sean Penn's character seemed like a half-decent, even likeable guy throughout, then all of a sudden he becomes Tony Soprano.

I thought it kinda sucked. I don't get all the hype.

I want to see Million Dollar Baby but I'm afraid it will be overrated too just like I thought Mystic River was.

I bet Million Dollar Baby will be great. I usually love Eastwood's movies, the ones he both appears in and directs are worthwhile one way or another. Unforgiven is one of my favorite Westerns ever, maybe second only to High Noon. And Million Dollar Baby pairs him back up with Freeman from Unforgiven again, they had a good buddy chemistry in that one.

Million Dollar Baby looks like just about everything I would hate. Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman reprising the same "grizzled old men" routine they've been doing over and over again. Hilary Swank, again as some manly chick with a heart of gold, or some crap like that. All combined into yet another boxing coming-of-age, beating adversity cliche-ridden circle jerk made only to impress psuedo-elitist awards show voters with the inclusion of some generic social controversy.

Ugh.

Considering I thought Mystic River was along many of those same lines, I'll be avoiding the hell out of this one.

I didn't like the movie that much, but I have to say that really isn't what transpires.
