Anyone still play the 3DS?

SMTIV is a goddamn masterpiece, I'm sad I missed out on Strange Journey before the e shop shut down. I'm really hoping that one gets ported to PC at some point, but I'm not holding my breath.
Just get it through hshop, or buy it used, you won't be stealing any revenue from the developers anyway…

I've come to the conclusion that some devs are better when they have to work with limited hardware. Look at Fatlus on DS/3DS for example. SMTIV and Strange Journey are so much better than Metaphor IMO.
Smaller budget games were much more fun, and there were more of them.

I took mine out recently and loaded it up with Chrono Trigger, ready to take to Japan next month.
I usually bring the PS Vita, but the 3DS is so much easier to pocket.

I've come to that conclusion especially with audio, and why I find some of the tracks from the 8-16 bit era so memorable as compared to now. The limitations of the day resulted in very distinctive 'video game' music and sound effects.

I just wanted to stop by and...OH MY LORD!! THAT BILLBOARD WITH THE CRAZY NOSE HAIR!! AAAHH!!

Sorry, I couldn't help myself there. I'll show myself out the door now.

PS: My daughter, who's 5 1/2 and almost finished with kindergarten, really enjoys Pokémon Art Academy. She likes the lessons where she gets to draw the Pokemon faces, and she's really good at it. Hooray! I would recommend that all parents get their kids a 2DS instead of a stupid-phone. Seriously, social media apps will fry their brains. Keep them as far away as possible.

It's the DS support that makes in invaluable. The DS has a metric ton of gems, having both the DS and 3DS library means there is always some cool little game to discover that you never heard about.

I recently bought one and its pretty rad. Got all the big games for it. I like the 3d effect a lot. That being said the graphics are of course very dated but there are so many good little gems on these systems it's great to have access to.

Yeah, the DS support is fantastic on the 3DS. Love it.
I hated the washed out and soft image of DS games on the 3DS. But I always wanted to catch up with all the Pokemon gmaes I still haven't played (everything DS/3DS era) so I had to buy a DSi XL. Got lucky and got one in mint condition, but I'd recommend everyone to buy a japanese DSi XL, somehow these guys take better care of their stuff so it's pretty easy to find a japanese one in good condition on ebay.

Thor is nothing to replace a 3ds.latency on the bottom screen is noticeable and makes some stylus based games unplayable.
Thor has no 3D and no PKSM, and I keep saying it, even though you technically can emulate games, there's just something special about playing it on OG hardware. Even better if you have the OG cartridges for the system. Every smartphone can emulate almost every retro game, but pulling out an N64 game box out of my shelf, unboxing it, shoving it in the N64 and turning it on on an CRT feels so much better than just having the entire N64 library on a Steam Deck, browsing through the library, bein undecisive which game you gonna play for 5 minutes before you turn it off again.

My wife uses her twice or thrice per year. Me, probably a bit less. So not on regular basis. But we still keep them and have plenty games. Especially my wife has fond memories of it because she played with it A LOT when she was a child and teenager.

I've had it readily available for years on my desk, but I don't really use it. I try every now and then, but have yet to find a game that can keep my attention.

Tempted to play DQ8 but I'm crossing my fingers they'll finally do a DQ8 PS2 Remake with the qol and extra stuff from the 3DS version.

GBA backwards capability is also a cherry on top. Unless, I am sorely mistaken and this is only a feature of the original DS and Lite editions.

Our beloved Nintendo 3DS turned 15 years old this year, and we're celebrating by dedicating this week's episode to one of our favorite Nintendo systems of all time. Join Logan Plant, Brian Altano, Seth Macy, and Jada Griffin as they reflect on the troubled launch of the 3DS, features they miss like StreetPass and Badge Arcade, the best games on the system like Zelda: A Link Between Worlds, Monster Hunter, and Kid Icarus: Uprising, and a lot more. Then, stick around as the panel breaks down this week's trailers for Splatoon Raiders and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, and hear our thoughts after one week with Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream.
