I've been squirreling away money all year long to purchase said system. I let the missus know I'd been saving up, but told her I didn't have to buy it, what with purchasing a new house and all. Told her we could put that money towards house stuff or whatever. "We'll see" was what she told me.
Well last weekend after doing some shopping, she said something to me about
"I'm guessing I'm buying you 360 stuff for Christmas, right?" I replied
"Well I didn't really know if we needed that money for house stuff yet."
"Well you might as well get it now since you have the money. Who knows when you'd be able to get once once we move into the house."
So I have the green light. I have my system on pre-order at EB Games. Everything is set to go. But now I'm wondering....
...should I buy it?
Weird, I know.
Really figured I'd buy Perfect Dark Zero (sucker for a FPS) and Morrrowind:
Oblivion at launch. But now Oblivion has been delayed and I'm not sure what
else I'd buy at launch. There's a buncha EA sports games I'm not too
interested in and a couple of racing games that don't do much for me.
Call of Duty 2 will be out and it looks pretty good but it IS another FPS.
Kameo is another launch game...adventure-type game...hear it's supposed to
be pretty good, but I played a demo at Best Buy and was kinda *meh* about
it. So for the launch, there's only one game I'm really jazzed about. Hard
to find info on all the games when my work blocks game sites.
Also, I have sooo many games already between the original Xbox and Gamecube.
Know if I get a 360 that'll push back my playing time on those systems.
Plus, I'll be the only kid on my block that has one. One of my biggest
gaming joys is getting online and playing with with my buddies. Now I'll be all alone
playing PDZ online and they'll be sending me invites to play Halo 2.
Part of me says "Stop thinking about it so much. It's a new game system! Buy
it and enjoy!" Nothing quite like a new system launch and being the first on
board. Fun and exciting!
The other part of me is reasoning and thinking logically about my gaming
passion (the 2 do not mix well, do they?). Do I need this? Should I hold on
to my money and wait and see what Sony does with the PS3 and Nintendo with
the Revolution?
Anyone else in a similar boat?
