For people in HS anyone taking AP classes?

I got one this week

APUS History, should be moderately hard considering barely any studying

Yup, took AP English Monday, AP US History tomorrow, AP Biology this coming Monday, and AP Psychology on Tuesday. *sigh*

do you like History will be easy tommorow? what are you doing for review? Im just taking pract quizzes and reading my review book

Those were the days...finishing the AP exams and then having two weeks to play solitaire because you only have like one class with an exam left. Well, at my HS anyway the AP counted as the final exam.

Going into college with Sophomore status by hours is kind of cool too.

I dunno...I don't think it will be hard, but I don't think it will be easy either. Mostly, I'm worried about the essays, and specifically the Free Response Questions (with the DBQ at least you have documents that you can draw info from, but FRQ you're on your own). In my class, we took an old AP exam for practice (I think it was from like 99 or 01) and once the score were scaled it was in the 4 range without the essays. My teacher also held a 2 hr review session today, but all we did was define terms (still, learning by word association, heh). Once I'm done with this exam though, I'll be straight. I'm not worried about Bio or Psych.

AP Bio on Monday. Haven't studied at all. And our teacher admits to failing to teach us 50% of the material. I have a book for the test, I could study, but...meh.

Wow, that sucks. My teacher is cool and good at teaching :D

I took the AP Comp Science Java (a) on wednesday, MP was hard, but the coding was alright. Anyone else took this AP?

my friend took, said it was hard, Im taking it next year

Yeah, apparently this was the first year where there were two argumentative essays and only one analytical. My teacher was pissed off because she taught how to write analytical essays for about 4/5 of the year; she also mentioned that 5 Steps to a 5 for 11th grade AP English would have to be thrown out and revised if they keep this format, heh.

I somehow passed six AP exams with 5's and entered college as a sophomore (though it still took me four full years to graduate goddamnit.) Five years later I can barely read Shakespeare, compose a complex sentence, do a derivative and spell my name. Stay away from beer, broads and leftist ideologues kiddies ;).

My teacher said most the graders take in to consideration all the things we have to learn for APUS and also that we only have 30 mins for thematics essay

AP fucking Studio Art is tomorrow. Finally getting it over with; this past week has been such a bitch, from finishing work to taking slides.

Gawd, worst AP ever. ....at least for those who procrastinate a whole lot.

Oh and Regents are nothing compared to the AP. The biggest problem with those is that they're so late in June... delays graduation.

ya, i agree about regents being super easy, also art classes are not good for procrastinate, I was going to fucking explode after my photo class, so many due dates, same for graphic design, at least that was fun

My sister just took the AP English Lit test today.

I've taken:

English Lang/Comp: 3 (2003)
US History: 4 (2003)
English Lit/Comp: 3 (2004)
Calculus AB: 3 (2004)

APUSH was by far the easiest... followed by Calculus.

My first AP test was the Calc BC test (which has an AB subsection, so it kind of counts as 2 tests in one).

I could have taken the AP Comp Science exam, but I chose to put it off until next year, as a senior.

I'm also taking French 6, which is a College in the Schools class which counts for credit at the U of Minnesota.

I'm also going to be taking AP Statistics.

so, if all goes well, when I graduate high school, I'll have these courses counting towards credit in college:

French 5
French 6
AP Calc
AP Stats
AP Comp Science

I would have taken AP Euro and US history, but the extra 3rd term would have completely fucked up my schedules as a Sophomore and junior, so I opted to take the regular, 2 term courses instead of the AP level ones.

Yeah...so AP History wasn't too bad. For the multiple choice I could pretty much always eliminate at least two answers, so I just guessed if I had to. The essays were alright too; Our teacher gave us #5 (the one about the transformation of American society in the 1960s and 1970s) as a DBQ this year, apparantly they recycled it into a FRQ. My other FRQ I choose was #3, the one about the debates on the Mexican War and its aftermath...yeah, I totally forgot the sectional interets of westerners (apparantely it's border disputes or something like that). I just put that they didn't really care about slavery and wanted more land to settle :lol

Thank God I'm a year ahead of you guys.

The DBQ last year was moderately difficult, something that involved a bit of European History. I went on a document quoting wazoo even though I vaguely knew what the hell they were talking about. And then another one was on, I believe, the Sectional Crisis, not too bad, and another one about victories/defeats/stalemates in the Cold War, which was extremely easy.

Basically, my teacher had afterschool cram sessions each day leading up to the test, and everything basically came back to me at that point. I thought of a time period, thought of the people and politics of the time, and basically 3'd my way through the test. I think luck played a huge role.

That said, I'm more at ease about the econ test than I was about the AP US History test.
