Anyone using a Digital Audio Player?

Going home for Christmas and I realized I have hundreds of CDs lying around, plus I am thinking of being more mindful about the music I am listening to + Spotify is outright stealing from the artists, so…

I checked the prices for DAPs (think Walkman) and holy shit…

Anyone using it on a daily basis ? I was thinking of buying something like Sony NW-A306, simply because that company never disappointed me when it comes to tech and pairing it with Sony wireless headphones to start with (yes, I know this is not ideal for the sound but I cannot go back to cables).

Any thought?

No need to break the bank.
Get a Fiio JM21 or a Shanling player in the €200-300 bracket. Sony is overpriced in DAPs like in everything else. A&K and all those premium brands don't give you that much more for so much more money.

Ideal performance bracket is probably around the €500 mark, but you can get some really good stuff for much less.

What about something like a chord mojo and your current phone? It does mean you'll have to go back to wires though.

Also, your phone doesn't use it's dac for Bluetooth headphones, they have their own inbuilt dac so maybe just better headphones is what you need.

I do and i love mine, infact i'm going to buy another one at some point, a Fiio already mentioned, i put my songs on in Flac and mp3 to a bigger SD Card and use a bluetooth connection to my speakers and in ear buds and listen in higher quality than online streaming, using LDAC/ Hires, and if the internet goes down or dodgy, it doesn't affect me at all, i would say do it in my opinion. i recommend Poweramp as a player too, it plays all format's

That may be true but you can use an external usb-c soundcard, like the Apple USB-C to 3.5mm "dongle" which contains a custom Cirrus logic DAC and it costs 10 bucks.
Either I use another device paired to my phone, which is not ideal, or I just use the dongle for wired headphones, in this case I'm still stuck with iPhone DAC.
