Since I've moved, I've started writing at an accelerating pace. I have a few pieces that I feel I can dub 'up to snuff.' Anyone out there have a clue about how I should go about getting my shaz published? It's been a good, oh, 4 years since I've had anything put out, and I really need to get back in the game if I ever want to make a living out of this. Also, being published would smooth out my reentry into college.

Any advice would be appreciated. Any advice on editing would be helpful as well. When I'm rolling, my language tends to get a lil', well, arabesque. I never have any clue about what needs cutting.

Umm, what do you want to get published? Articles, short stories, novels?

For the time being, short fiction. There's scholarship potential there, and it would also look nice when I do apply for readmission.
