I doubt this stuff would show as strange on an x ray machine, it would just look like toner.

But there were other aspects to it that were supposedly strange. So if after opening it they saw white powder then obviously it is not toner.

The cargo company I work for X-RAY all consignments that go on our planes, cant speak for UPS though.

Why do we always have to piece everything together from the different medias? Why doesn't the gov just put up a site with the info or something? If they make info available to the media, they can do the same to the public.

So right now we know:

1- Multiple suspicious packages sent from one address in Yemen.
2- At least one was actual explosive substance.
3- One of the destinations for the packages was a synagogue?
4- Obama was briefed on this yesterday.

What else? Why does the media talk of a test run when it has been confirmed some of it was legit?

US officials have stated they were unsure as to how package would have been detonated.

I believe it is showing something along the lines of our national security doing a good job at detecting harmful substances that could have harmed the public, thus it could be seen as a positive for the president or his party. But idk.

Fair enough, way I see it is, presidents come and go, but national security will always be there doings it's job.

Anyway, this bust was down to some very vigilant and well trained warehouse staff at the respective air hubs.

So there's something on the plane that might be a bomb, and it's allowed to fly all the way from Canada to New York City? Why not re-direct it to the closest airport immediately for inspection if the risk is as great as it's made out to be? And why the useless martial display of an escort of fighter jets - as if those could do anything about it if the plane explodes one moment to the next! What are they going to do, try to shoot down the debris?

There is a FBI field office at JFK. They redirected the plane to travel over the atlantic and not fly over metropolitan areas

I did find the timing of this to be odd, but then again, terror attacks around an election cause massive chaos, which might be the point. They may have been gearing up for a Nov. 1st or 2nd attack and doing the dry run to see how well it could have went.

Errr usually the cellphone is connected to the explosives and it triggers them once it rings/vibrates. What is unclear is if the thing was actually rigged to blow up or not at all.
