Apex Legends |OT| Have you seen Titanfall 3?

4 legendaries and 3 Epics from my 14 packs. I'm pretty happy since I got 2 legendary character skins for characters that I didn't have legendaries for (which was only 3 characters, now only 1). It was fun opening 14 at once, I think I'll wait til I have 50 packs from level 200 to open more.

I really like this game but am already playing so many other games I just never get around to playing this much. What's this about an update and 14 packs?

If you’re level 100 they’ll reward you with 14 packs assuming you went beyond the cap which is level 100

Fake as hell bro. 😘😘

I got nothing either but some decent metal so crafted two finishers for Caustic and Wattson. Mirage got a new finisher btw.

Just spent 13 hours playing Apex. No regrets. Got to level 110. Think I'll stack the packs I earn until S4 drops. As long as I can get enough metal for a Revenant skin I'll be content.

Will update when I get my next one. Thank you
My bad it's every 30 packs you're guaranteed a legendary, 15 packs is just the normal odds that you should get one since it's like a 7% chance. Shit I guess I was super lucky to get 4 in my 14 packs.

Yeah with a 7% chance per pack, with 15 tries you have 66% chances to have at least one legendary (1-.93^15)

Don't know what kind of weird math you're using. 7% chance literally means that if you opened 100 packs you should get 7 legendaries, so you just bring that back to 15 from 100 and you get 7/(100/15) = 1.05

If I used your formula on something I had a 10% chance to get per pack and I had 10 packs we'd get 1-90^10 = 0.65 chance which makes no sense since simple logic will say you should get 1, obviously though 10 and even 100 are small sampling sizes you'd need to do a lot more to get the percentage close to what is announced. Obviously luck plays a bigger factor the smaller the sample size is so you may or may not get 1 legendary every 15 packs, but if you opened 15 000 000 packs you'd probably have around 1 000 000 legendaries.

Of course all the above is somewhat simplified into assuming 1 item per pack even though there's are 3 items per Apex packs. The pack description only says 7% of getting 1 legendary, we don't know they split the odds up between the three slots, maybe they're even and the combined chance of getting one is 7% or maybe one slot as a higher chance than the other two.

Simple logic would be wrong. :p
If you play 10 times with each a 10% chance to win, you get an expectation of 1, ie the average amount of times someone would win in that situation, but not a probability of 1 (which would mean you'd be sure to win at least once, which is wrong since you could be unlucky and never win).
Let's make it simpler and play heads or tails. There's a 50% chances of getting "heads" on a single coin toss. If you toss the coin twice, the expectation of getting "heads" is 2*0.5 = 1. But you have four possible outcomes : heads + heads, heads + tails, tails + heads, tails + tails. So you have 75% chances to get heads at least once, which is the complement of always getting tails ( 1 - 0.25 = 1 - 0.5*0.5).
If you toss the coin 5 times, your chance of getting heads at least once is 1 - 0.5*0.5*0.5*0.5*0.5 = 97%

Apex won Multiplayer Game of the Year at the VGAs which it rightfully deserves but anything beyond that is pushing it.

New event dropped. Mirage's ship is a fucking MEGA hotzone. Gonna avoid it until it cools down. Also the train event... I never expected pre-made load outs for Legends it's an interesting way to do it.

Some of the seasonal skins look REALLY nice but I think I'll give them a miss. If I was a hardcore Gibraltar main I would buy his skin though for real.

The new mode isn't for me. It relies too much on immediate shoot-outs, and discards everything that makes Apex what it is (hunting for loot, reviving comrades, using abilities,...). Also I get frustrated with modes where you need to wait for the next round to respawn.

How fun is the new train event? Looked fun from what I saw
There's custom load outs but they rotate them between Legends every day or so. I only played it A LOT when you got crazy XP from it for Double XP weekend. If you do really well you could have walk away with like 13K XP+

Mirage was honestly the best character to play as for it. it doesn't add to your stats for kills and stuff though but that doesn't matter.

Honestly, dunno what Respawn has planned next. Tempted to uninstall on my PS4 until S4 comes out. They must be planning something big for their 1st Anniversary.

I wonder if they shouldn't just remove the ability to drop outside of the group... nothing more frustrating than starting a game with one member going his own way even before we start falling. I can't think of any situation where dropping on your own doesn't hurt the teamplay.

If you're the group leader you can just suicide and kill everyone. It sucks that the group can separate, but otherwise it's too easy for trolls.

That's true. But I haven't met that many suicidal leaders anyway.
Maybe it could be possible to add an invisible wall on the insta-death areas during the initial drop ?

What’s the strategy behind wanting to land in Capitol City or Epicenter or Mirage Voyage every. Single. Time? Just to start killing ASAP?

People want a rush immediately. It rarely works out well, since weapon placement is all luck based. Think I've won with randoms a total of 5 times who have done it since I played the game.

Next update isn't until January 7th if that depending on Respawn's plan after their holiday break. I've stopped playing and won't start again until they start the S4 hype.

Haven’t played in a while thanks to Modern Warfare. Now I can’t aim as the game feels heavy also thanks to Modern Warfare

Yeah it's a total gamble, if you're lucky to find armor/weapon when you land you'll get a few easy kills, otherwise it's just quick death or just getting pot shots until someone dies.
But at least it's still better than having people disconnect when you don't select a "hot zone" to drop into. :/
I also got a couple of times a random partner with a large number of victories in the current season (like 40+) disconnecting from the beginning. I suspect them to only keep playing with partners with good scores, hence the large number of victories (piggybacking on good teams).

I've started to drop hot as often as possible since I feel that getting a fight in early sharpens my play style for later battles. But it sure sucks ass when you land and find nothing while the enemies rock shields and peacekeepers. But that's a good opportunity to hone those evasive skills lol.

Starting to grow a bit tired of the new map, but it seems a lot easier to grab wins here. Not exactly impressive, but I have twice as many wins this season (about 70 I think) than the other two combined.

I really lost my skill in this game. Thank you CoD!

I have to gain back my epicness :(

Don’t sprint too much. Keep flank secure as possible, e.g walk close to a building instead of moving in the middle of a street.

I say this because when I get lazy and don’t follow these basics I suck.

That's honestly part of the reason I'm keeping clear of COD, I know it will probably be close but just different enough to make my Apex game even worse than it already is lol.
It’s not only that. Surprisingly CoD is way faster

I always do that but my aim became a joke. My tracking game was insane and CoD made me realise that it’s faster than Apex
