In EA’s latest fiscal earnings call, the publisher confirms that season three of Apex Legends was bigger than season two

EA's CEO Andrew Wilson
It’s nearly one year since we took the industry by storm with Apex Legends, and the strength and opprotunity of this IP and live service continue to grow. Apex is an outstanding example of the innovation across our portfolio. Seasons of new content are coming at a regular cadence for the growing global community. Season Three was bigger than Season Two with higher peaks in daily active users. Within those seasons, in-game events are engaging players with content and challenges that show the imagination and creativity that we are continually pouring into the experience.

The new character's abilities seem weird... fire skin ? cloud puff body swap ? It doesn't even fit the "evil robot" profile.

he becomes a ghost that can't die.
and his passive I think is that he can climb like twice as high if I remember the leaks correctly.

Revenant's leaked abilities which I assume applies in his two phases

I really wonder what it is they do with energy weapons...
when they took out the extended energy magazines they said it would make sense after Season 4 is out...

I mean the game started with not having energy magazines, but I wonder what in Season 4 makes it make sense to take them out again?

Funny how much dislike the community had for S3 after the dust had settled, if it wasn't as long then I think it wouldn't have been as hated. Hyped for S4 mega though, hopefully Respawn devs humble bragging this season has a lot to offer means more than paid cosmetic events.

Its an F2P game so expect them to always be around. My take on S3 is that I hate it because the new map is tooooo open and the sniper meta is garbage

Thats why I ditched the game at the beginning of the season and just returned two weeks ago to finish the battle pass

Capitol City Splits in Two

Capitol City was the biggest POI in Season 3, getting the most action right out of the ship. By sending the fissure straight through Capitol City and creating some dead space in between (swallowing up one of the construction buildings as well), we essentially split this area into two separate zones for players to land in and loot: Fragment East and Fragment West.

The large fissure can only be crossed in two locations (a zipline, or a fallen skyscraper bridge). This allows teams some breathing room to control one side after the drop, reducing the risk of running into 3rd parties from the other side of the city. Is the construction site too hot for you? Land in Fragment East and use a Wattson or a Caustic to control the choke points for extra security. Of course, Pathfinder and Octane can both use their ultimates to get their teams across at any location.

The Updraft

The original design of the new fissure had players drop to their death if they had the misfortune of missing a jump. We wanted this gap to matter - for players to fight across and control the bridges as the only way across. This let certain Legends shine (Pathfinder / Octane for crossing, Caustic / Wattson for defending) and created some intense firefights when the ring was approaching. The problem was, a fatal fall felt too punishing. The last thing we wanted was players avoiding the new map changes because they had an unfair experience.

Now, if you jump into the fissure that cuts through Capitol City you’ll slowly be carried back up from the heated, pressurized air, and allowed to coast across and land on the other side. This is balanced by two things. First, you take 25 damage from the intense heat and embers floating inside. This is a consistent amount of damage every time you drop back down. Second, you travel very slowly, in third person, while moving in the updraft. You are essentially a flying loot piñata for any nearby enemy players.

Weapon Racks

These are guaranteed weapons placed on racks in the small buildings of Survey Camp. You’ll recognize them from Training or the Firing Range. his should give players who prioritize a good weapon over a premier drop location a new decision to make.
We’re always excited to try flipping Battle Royale rules on their heads, and we look forward to seeing how this feature influences where players drop.

We both know this is going to happen mate. Pricks cries if they don't get what they want

I wasn’t playing when the other newer legends hit, but I assume it was the same then. I’ll need to give my friends a kick up the arse to play more!

My dudes have you seen the beacon Revenant makes? He get revived there when he dies while in shadow form!

I am maining the fuck out of this mad lad!

Battle pass skins are absolute dogshit. I thought S3 had Fortnite skins but they were master class compared to this. Whew.

Not making any assumptions and gonna go in tomorrow. Got three days off work after tonight so I'll be smashing it.

That Revenant skin wasn't labelled as a Battle Pass skin so...

Also Wraith already has a load of skins. Would have been more interesting if Bangalore or Mirage got one.

well we'll have to wait for the full reveal of the battlepass skins...
and maybe they will ad a bunch of regular skins to the mix again? the new Caustic skin they added last month was pretty nice for example. (and wasn't the new Bangalore skin also permanent?)

Yeah I wasn't feeling them too apart from Wraith's skin (which is a character I dislike)

But I'll wait for tomorrow and check the whole battle pass before judging it

Where’s the hype? Where’s the heavy discussions?!

Damn I wish Tesseract Tesseract was here😔
I got you bruddah!

So I'm rewatching the trailer and I noticed something about the Sentinel. Before she does the bolt action reload , the Sentinel seems to be hooked up to her body armor, like she was charging it using body armor energy and then she unplugs it when done. Respawn mentioned that the lack of energy magazines in the last update would make sense in Season 4. I suspect Respawn might completely remove energy ammo from the game and energy weapons will need to be charged with ammo via body armor which would most likely be drained and need to be replenished via shield cells. So in essence instead of carrying around energy ammo you need to carry around extra shield cells.

It makes sense because right now energy weapons have a huge advantage in the game since they basically all have a blue mag already integrated when you pick them up. What do you guys think? Also so hyped to play as Revenant tonight!

Boss Mog my man glad to see you here! I noticed that too! Sentinel is going to hit hard like a train, I believe it’ll hit harder than a Kraber too.

Have you noticed how Revenant throws his shadow bomb? I noticed it after watching the trailer for the third time. Have a look!
