Apparently "stepping on jordans in the hood" is a great prank idea

Awww shit! VIM store in the background. Damn that takes me back. Now I just need to see a Jimmy Jazz store to complete the nostalgia.

It has nothing to do with shoes it's just disrespect. They have other videos that have nothing to do with shoes that end in the same way. Why go around fucking with people for no reason?

Oh no, some random stranger that I will never see again has somewhat disrespected me in public in a way that nobody will remember in five minutes! Woe is me! Better kick his ass to make up for it....

Yah, fucking stupid.

I wouldn't care. Just so long as they don't break my toes or smear some nasty foul smelling gunk on them, I would be mildly irritated at worst. Because I realize that getting into a fight over fucking sneakers is pretty high up there on the 'dumb shit to fight about' list.

Normally people would get pissed off if something like that happened (those shoes cost a lot) and definitely not to the point where I'll beat them up, but enough to react. It's a stupid argument because you're going straight to blame the person that was there doing nothing and not the person that initiated it.

So if someone came up to you, asking you "hey do you mind if I step on your shoes", you say no and they do it anyway not provoking?

Doing it in an intentional way like those assholes in the vid then yes, there is a problem.

But when someone accidentally steps on someones "jordans" and that someone just goes berserk, its stupid and moronic.

This is as much of a prank as walking up and slapping someone in the face is. It's a shame these guys didn't actually get their asses kicked.

No, it's the best because it shows how dumbasses react to getting their fucking shoes stepped on.

They're shoes, for fucks sake. A pair of fucking shoes. Wipe them off, get over it, go on with your day.

Ugh... I find it stupid that people get on a fight because "yo! You stepped on my Jordans!"

Do you really think that's why people are reacting that way?

Oh no, some random stranger that I will never see again has somewhat disrespected me in public in a way that nobody will remember in five minutes! Woe is me! Better kick his ass to make up for it....

Yah, fucking stupid.

Don't really see a problem. If you don't go out of your way to deliberately try and be an asshole to people you won't have any issues.

Yah, fucking stupid.

It's not that simple. More less so with peers surrounding them. Of course, it depends on the situation as much as on the personality of the individuals themselves, but men in their 20's fighting one another after being insulted seems like the textbook situation for peer pressure.

So according to your logic I could step on something of yours that's expensive and you'd "get on with your day?" Idc about jordans, I wear these literally everyday.

But i'd still be pissed if someone were to step on them. You shouldn't step on people's things, period. Accidentally is fine but if you're doing it intentionally like these assholes then yes there will be a problem, stand up for yourself and don't let random assholes damage your expensive items. Why're you blaming the victim?

Wow, I'm pretty laid back and I violence is my last resort but come on. Someone gets in your face and steps on your shoes on purpose that is fucked up. I don't care if you wearing Payless.

That's a prank? What's next?
"We push people down the stairs and film their reaction".

It's also pretty racist too.

in a day and he's almost got a million views. it's pretty sickening right there. I wonder how much he paid those people.

IT'S NOT A FUCKING PRANK.

YOU JUST DID IT. THE THING A PERSON GETS ANGRY AT.

YOUR MISREPRESENTED INTENTIONS DO NOT CONSTITUTE TRICKERY.

It's so fucking stupid it's angering. What idiots.

To answer question 1: As long as you didn't break it, I wouldn't care. Even if you did, I would be upset but go on with life. I might be upset, but anything that can be bought with money, can be replaced with money.

To answer question 2: Yes, these guys are being assholes. No denying that. But physically assaulting someone because they stepped on your shoes, even if on purpose? You don't see the complete overreaction and senselessness of that?

I feel like the devolution of "pranks" into "being a dick to people on camera" is entirely the fault of Remi Gaillard.

These guys are fucking idiots. What they're doing is not pranking people, it's purposefully antagonising them to evoke a violent reaction. These Youtube "pranksters" are getting so outrageously dumb that they post these "bloopers" for even more views rather than taking the hint. I've seen these OckTV guys get knives and guns pulled on them, and one day, "Sorry, dude, it's a prank! It's a prank!" isn't going to be enough and someone is going to either get really hurt or killed.

Really I mean really.

I think these are the same idiots that sexually harass women under the guise of a prank and then get mad when someone reacts.

Because this particular thing doesn't bother you. Think of something that would drive you nuts. I personally don't really care that much about sneakers, someone fucking with my comics as a kid....we're fighting lol

No one is condoning violence in this thread, it just seems you're missing the point. You're focusing on the people that did nothing wrong when it's more fucked up to profit off of inane, disrespectful shit like this sprinkled with some subtle racism.

I have to ask gaffers - is that how you would react if someone stepped on your shoe on purpose? Thinking about it - it's probably all fake. No way do random people react like this.

I'm usually the first to yell "staged" but those reactions seemed very authentic. Also this was during the parade from Monday in Brooklyn, so testosterone was flowing freely already.

Is this the TV edit or something?

That is actually what the sign said when they were filming in Harlem. It was edited later on in post production. But also re-used in the TV edit.

Also, to comment on the video, this is just painful and awkward to watch. Even if it is staged, it still doesn't make me laugh, nor do I find it mildly amusing. The guy doing the prank just comes off as being an asshole.

I'm ashamed of my Black half, is just sneakers for God's sake. They are supposed to get dirty.
I'm sure disrespect and low self esteem are valuable traits.

I wouldn't get into a fight over this, but letting myself get walked all over is unacceptable.

If you really want to escalate, just call the cops. Doing nothing but saying they're just shoes enforces their behavior. Oh, my house is on fire, but it's just a house. Oh, dog shit all over my lawn but it's just a lawn. Oh, my car was keyed, but it's just a car. Oh, I could go on but yeah.

I don't understand how saying "it's a prank" means anything after you actually step on his shoes.

That's not what happened though.

Yes I know that's not what happened but if someone were to accidentally step on someone else's jordans they would react violently and I find that stupid. I can even use a clip from that vid as an example and apply it to a real case scenario.

From 0:06-0:13 you can get a scenario that can happen in real life by accident. You can see that theres a woman with a blue shirt coming the opposite direction and the guy moves to the side and steps on the guys Jordans. Of course it was done intentionally but let's pretend it wasn't. The guys first reaction was to push him to the ground and grab him.

My point is that there are persons that react violently when someone accidentally steps on their jordans and thats plain and simply stupid. Of course this was a "prank" and this dumbass did it with the intention to provoke, so they totally deserve the ass whoopin.

I think people that find their reactions outrageous don't seem to get that it's not just about the sneakers. It's the flagrant disrespect that really sets people off.
