Also if someone is purposely stepping on your shoes then yeah a person has the right to get pissed. People pay their hard earned cash for these expensive shoes that cost between $99-$600 (and before some snobby jerk says "Well they are stupid for paying that much for some darn shoes", please stop talking. They can spend whatever they want for anything. You wouldn't like it if someone called you stupid for owning a nice watch, car or anything for that matter). Not only that but you did step on their shoes which means you also stepped on their foot purposely, which is basically assault and intention to start altercations. How can stepping lightly on shoes ruin them? Are your shoes made out of cardboard? Paper? Most shoes are made from durable material that is designed to last for a while. Most shoes won't get ruined if someone steps lightly on them.

First off no one gives damn about what they shoes were designed for. The point is is that the shoes are his so only he know what he bought the shoes for. Most likely he purchased them with the intention to not fuck up something expensive that hes using as flashy apparel. People dont wear shit to fuck it up, simple as that. I know plenty of people who purchase Jordans and they take extra care of then because they simply dont want to damage them. You fail to realize that people collect these things as well. You dont know the owners intentions for the shoes are once they make the purchase so the argument that they are designed to get dirty is pointless. Don't go around purposely damaging peoples things.
Dirt and damage are 2 separate things. Dirt comes off but a fucking scuffs definitely ruins a par of shoes permanently.
