It'd be awesome if Air Video redesigned their UI like iBooks.
Folder trees just don't do it for me.

There's Video Stream but I haven't tried it in a while. Technically it's still basic folders, but the UI is fancier layout of them.Buckethead said:It'd be awesome if Air Video redesigned their UI like iBooks.

Yessss! What do you have in yours? I'm looking for more stuff to put in my Flipboard.RJT said:Just wanted to say Flipboard is the most awesome news app ever. And It's free.
meh. love flipboard, but the NYT's app is essential if you're a subscriber. Flipboard has great presentation, but they rely too heavily on middling news outlets for the makeup of their channels.Maklershed said:Yessss! What do you have in yours? I'm looking for more stuff to put in my Flipboard.
News apps like USA Today, NYT, and The Daily are kind of useless when you have Flipboard.
I dunno, Flipboard has improved greatly since it launched. I always end up going back to it after I try other news apps. They've been adding new featured content sources each week, too.scorcho said:meh. love flipboard, but the NYT's app is essential if you're a subscriber. Anastacio said:I'm really sad I bought Numbers and it turns out I can't track my savings because it only does UD Dollars as a currency. Is there any app where I can keep track of my savings and where it'll calculate when I'll reach my goals and alarms me if I'm not following the plan etc.?
Have you checked for Numbers options in the Settings app?Anastacio said:Would be great if I could just erase the currency all together?
I'm very happy with the smart cover, doesn't protect the back though.Gully State said:Just recently picked up the 16 GB iPad 2 and I'm looking for a good skin + screen protector combo. Which one do you guys recommend?

Edit: I guess that's not really what you meant
Make sure you use http://secondapps.com/neogaf to browse GAF on your iPad. It's really awesome.cantona222 said:I've just received my IPad 2 yesterday. I'm using it right now to GAF it up
Is there a dedicated thread for I Pad backgrounds?
Completely unnecessary. Don't throw your money away.Gully State said:Yeah I want a transparent screen protector (keep it clean from smudges as well as scratches) along with a good snug fitting skin. It doesn't have to be the same package (I probably should've omitted combo from my previous post). I don't really like the aesthetics of the folio covers.
mrkgoo said:So I had the fortune of actually playing around (first time for me) with a tablet other than the iPad the other day. I think it was the Acer Iconia Tab.
MY first go with Android honeycomb. It was actually pretty nice. Lots of ports and things. It did make me realise how awkward the widescreen display is to use in portrait mode (my preferred mode).
It made me a bit nostalgic, actually, back to my Windows days. Back when I didn't care about OS, or design. Back when what I was doing was good enough.
It does make me realise that Apple are so ahead of the pack - they really have heralded the tablet age, even though they didn't invent the category. What they did do is say that a tablet computing device should be more like a mobile phone than a PC. They showed what was the bare minimum you needed to be considered 'enough' for most people, and that it really was enough to kick off the category.
It's weird, because was there anything really like the iPad before? Sure, the newer tabs have a load of features, but it seems they've just built upon what the ipad put out, and all that was was a larger iPod touch. It seems so obvious in hindsight, but I think before everyone was just making tablets that were more like PCs, rather than the phone approach which has worked well for Apple.
Curiously, do you think the iPad would have made more or less traction had it been introduced before an iPod touch/iPhone? Would it be MORE amazing, or less?

Definitely a better UI, they should copy that.japtor said:There's Video Stream but I haven't tried it in a while. Technically it's still basic folders, but the UI is fancier layout of them.

As I said before, it is like my old gran leaving the plastic covering on her sofa, but still spending extra money to get a nice sofa
If you need to buy something to keep it safe, buy a temporary pouch of some kind to store the iPad in while in transit. There are some that fit iPad exactly, I am not sure if this one 100% does though
And dont get me started on these stickers people put on the back of their device. They dont want to get the back scratched, so they make the whole thing look like shit beforehand.
Haha, did you have a comment about my site or did you just want to share it?Rez said:

Mmmm so close...
HenryGale said:Bullshit. I kept my last ipad super clean, don't have nails, don't use stylus and kept it in a neoprene incase slip sleeve. Took 2 months before little scratches formed on the glass.
Powersupport screen protectors are awesome, don't give it a plastic feel, and don't add that orange peel effect. I personally don't want scratches on my new iPad. So I am getting a powersupport protector soon.
to each their own, but i'd rather have the security in making sure the glass on my device won't shatter as soon as it hits a hard surface after a 3+ foot drop.Keyser Soze said:Screen protectors, and always on cases are stupid, unnecessary, and unneeded.
i know! how dare people try to protect their investment, or customize the exterior to suit their own tastes! what a bunch of dolts!Burger said:LOL.
Apple tries it's hardest to make the device thinner and lighter, case manufacturers try their hardest to go in the opposite direction.
Amazing.

There is nothing on the human body that could mark the iPad while in normal use. I am sure stuff like engagement rings might be a problem, but even then, people should not be using that side of their hand.
If people want to be super safe, then maybe use a protective pouch while in transit. There is no need to encase you iPad in stuff when you are holding it
BTW, my original post was not direct at you. It was at Gully State's post. Those cover/stands are an legitimate item imo
It's great for just flipping through (pun intended) your Twitter feed at the end of the day to see if there's anything cool you missed =) Not as useful for going through a linear timeline of everything that went on over the course of the day though.Stumpokapow said:I liked FlipBoard, but it sucks for reading full length content, so I don't actually use it for news. I use it for what it's best at; images and photos, so I subscribe to Apartmenttherapy, Uncrate, Astronomy Picture of the Day, Best of Instagram, FlipPhotos, etc. If it was possible to have a full length article reading interface that didn't suck I'd definitely use it for that.
It's pretty decent for Twitter as well.
I used my iPad 1 for a year and just kept it in a case with a cover. I would wipe it with a microfiber cloth from time to time. It was spotless and scratchless when I sold it 11 months later for $350.Gully State said:So you're saying that the screen won't scratch? b/c that's what I'm worried most about.

I agree with you 100%. Putting a screen protector on an iPhone/iPad is 100% pointless. Not only do they make your phone look hideous, they also make the finer touch gestures a pain in the ass to perform. Apple did not intend for their products to work with a big plastic sheet over them.Keyser Soze said:I am not going to argue with you, or start throwing the word bullshit back at you, but they are unneeded items in my opinion.
