The new last-minute iPod Touch rumors over at ilounge.com have got me excited. They are claiming even thinner than the 2&3Gen Touches, with a flat back, and no silver lip that wraps around (and after seeing the iPhone 4 I would LOVE that same lip-less look)

After years of waiting I am finally considering getting one, I don't think I've ever been this excited for an apple conference.

I just need that retina display and 5MP camera!

That thinness would be amazing but I think the trade-off will be getting a 5MP camera as well :/ No flash (The rumors say it's a microphone not a flash on the back) and a 3MP camera would complicate my decision to get an iPod Touch as an iPhone4 replacement...

My educated guess is no. They stuck with 32GB on the phone, and I think they'll hold out with 64GB on the touch.

The iPad will be the first device to get 128GB, IMO.

Yes. If it has the built-in iPhone camera(s), then I'm sold. It's the perfect vacation all-in-one (camera / music player / mini-computer) -- short of getting an iPhone.

I really think that it could take a good chunk of the point-and-shoot market.
 
Can't fucking wait... been holding off on buying a touch all year because I knew they'd come all-out (camera, etc) with it this time. If they come through, this device will be huge. Especially for those who don't wanna be tied down with the phone.
 
Can someone explain how the iPhone is lacking in "corporate" email support? I've used an iPhone with activesync for a year now. I sync my contacts, GAL, calenders, and email. They have the ability to remotely brick the phone if it's lost.

I can't think of other "enterprise" features that the iPhone doesn't have. We don't support them here because of cost issues (Apple/ATT do not make deals for large volume accounts)

They didn't mention anything, here is the article. They said the VOIP info wasn't a very reliable claim, but wouldn't that be amazing?

Yeah I know, that would REALLY sour the deal for me. I would probably still end up getting it but I wouldn't be as ecstatic about it.

I really don't need the flash because in the test photos I've taken with an iPhone 4, I turned the flash off and they came out great.

Virtually all the doctors at my hospital use Blackberries or Android phones even though Apple products are subsidized for us. When it comes to life or death situations, nobody wants to rely on iPhones and AT&T :lol

I should rephrase... now that 1080p has been the standard for a while, I guess it's too bad they aren't bumping it up to that. Good to know though that they are in fact not going backwards.

My wife complains that you can't see other people's calendars for availability when scheduling meetings on the iPhone, whereas she could (apparently) on her old Blackberry. That's one thing.

Also, when I change/update/delete meetings on my iPhone sometimes it doesn't send out updates/cancellations to attendees. That kinda sucks.

That's two ways I can think of. I like the iPhone and use it extensively for work but those two things are weaknesses.
 
Wonder what the deal with apple.com is going to be.

I keep refreshing the page on my iPad hoping to see some change but so far, nothing.
 
I'd drop $100 on an AppleTV that was no more than a display-less iOS box for my living room as long as Netflix, MLB At Bat, and the other media apps work on it without any bizarre catches.

I'm curious to see if Apple does anything with the iPod Classic. I have 80+ gigs of music and my dream is for a non-Touch flash memory version. Don't think I'll be seeing one of those anytime soon, though. :lol

I'd like this too. I use my classic (with my whole library) in the car which has an ipod dock. I've had it for years and I know it won't last forever.

My roommate just put in his two cents and said that he wouldn't be surprised if apple just discontinued the "Classic" line and bumped up the capacity of the new Touch.

I'd be one sad panda if that was the case :(

That makes a lot of sense from a business perspective if they can get the capacity to match the classics.

Apple wants as many iOS devices on the market as possible, and the classic right now just isn't that.

No dice. It's not filtering by browsers or anything, it's using HTTP Streaming which apparently is only going to work on iDevices or Snow Leopard Safari/Chrome.

You may want to check out some of the ustreams in the OP.

People have said that the last two years.

It's not happening with the iPhone 4 upgrades and flash prices actually having gone up due to demand.

Honestly, all I really want/need is a 64GB Nano. Although some of the rumors you guys are tossing around about the new touch get me pumped.
