I feel bad for all those people who were frothing at the mouth over the suggestion that it would be called iPhone 5 even though 'it's the sixth iPhone'.

over a year ago. on device iOS updates came with iOS 5. They are small delta updates not the whole thing.

Though it remains to be seen if whole version updates are supported (we will know soon)

Fair enough, but I have to ask then, what hardware features are you exactly looking forward to that isn't available on an android device?
 
I'm surprised people are surprised the phone is probably going to be called the iPhone 5 and not the new iPhone...I mean, even the press invite had a giant 5 on it.

Nobody ever seems to be able to answer that. "Something that blows me away" is most common, which really ends up meaning "something different".
 
God I hope the iTunes is the shit. Please please please don't disappoint, i've been waiting for that POS to get updated proper for too many years to be let down now. Hype.

But man, there's nothing that hasn't been leaked now. FFS Apple, this is worse than Sony.

like I said, they're just looking for excuses to try something new as if there is something so terribly wrong with it.

You guys want the lumia then go get it, don't need to justify it under the guise of a disappointing update due to vague expectations.

At this point, the only thing that can save the event hype are some crazy iPhone 5 specific megatons

I'm telling you all, some people are inherently susceptible to just wanting something new to look at. As the iPhone's look doesn't change, no matter how perfect, there's a market that will bore and migrate.

If it isn't, or at least doesn't seem like it is, it will not be a new iTunes in my book. Some web graphic changes and menu layout altercations are not enough to fix the mess that is iTunes.

We'll see, i'm trying not to get my hopes up as it'll probably be disappointing.

I guess I'm not sure why it needs to change. It's almost iconic at this point. Even as someone who doesn't own an iPhone I love the design and I think they need to stick with the majority of it.

Exactly. That design should not be thrown out. Not yet, anyway. Iteration is fine.
 
New iTunes is long overdue. I hope it is something dramatically new and different. For too long now they've been doing incremental updates and it would be nice to see it get a real overhaul to be more efficient. And this is coming from someone who uses it on a Mac. The PC version is in even more dire straits.
 
hope they made itunes less bloated and disgusting to use....

it was a horrible program when I had to use to to sync my iTouch 2-3 years ago...
