They made so many of these videos (this is the 6th for the iPhone!), that them going "this is absolutely our best looking and performing iPhone yet" has become stale and lost its meaning.

"I don't think the level of invention has been matched by anything we've ever done." The MacBook Retina team sobs quietly.

The verge providing the goods.

I have a feeling it's in a bit of a holding pattern until they get something new and innovative going on.

or apple is dying slowly.

which will it be!?

It is impossible to innovate every year. The design is a piece of glass with a chip in it. Always going to eventually tail off with huge jumps forward

I'm also not a fan of the aluminum backing. I like the glass backing of my iPhone 4. The aluminum backing makes me afraid it will be scratch prone and I hate the idea of having to put my phone in a case. :(

I'd think the reverse; every time I accidentally drop my iPhone, I'm terrified the back will spiderweb crack. My girlfriend's did. I'd rather a ding or a scratch than a shatter!

that hardwere, it be nice to run Jelly on it

Nothing earth shattering here, yet

I think I may change to windows phone iOs is stagnating and I fancy a change (and android is gash)

So basically you're saying it's SO SHAMEFUL it wasn't already there that shouldn't even have mentioned it?
That's what I'm hearing.

and it makes you sound crazy

I guess? I don't know why you're attacking me. They touted a feature that my old phone has had for a while. That makes me worry. So I asked a question.

Not everyone is a fanboy. Relax. I have an iPad and a Droid X2, with a Windows PC.

I'm... uh

Where is the iPhone 5 exclusive iOS 6 feature?

Don't get me wrong, I think this phone is hot sex and I can't wait ti leave my iPhone 4 for it, but. Every iPhone has had some kind of software-exclusive feature to it.

Is it only the Panoramic photos?
And full-screen Safari.

Yeah, disappointing.

Seriously? That's it?

Have you not seen the event? Seriously.

People saying ''That's it?'' must have been completely fixated by the taller screen, same width but are completely ignoring the fact that everything they improved and changed is so tremendous that a lot of companies need to up their ante by 200%

I just don't get why we get posts that people have "boners" over this. I mean it looks like a nice phone, but it's just a bigger screen and a bit smaller. There's nothing mind blowing or game changing about it. That's not a terrible thing, but it's just kind of silly to see people overreact to stuff I guess.

This is coming from a dumb-phone user.

What did you guys what? I mean. It's a solid upgrade.

That's the thing. I don't know what they could offer that would get some people more excited. If they just keep iterating and improving, that's okay with me -- at least for now. I don't care about the screen all that much one way or the other, but a much faster processor and better battery life sound good to me.

I think they need to keep creating this version of the iPhone but also create an iPhone XL line where they make phones with a bigger screen. And they also need to introduce the candy colours to their phones.

Oh man this picture takes the cake.

Has Apple ever announced more than one product in these things? Because the whole presentation has been about the iPhone 5. Why would people even invent a rumor about there being an iPad mini shown?

"Now you can make a FaceTime call right over the cellular network." Well...

:lol :lol JB for the win.

This personally isn't enough for me to want to upgrade from my 4. At no point do I go "argh, my iPhone 4 is fucking SLOW".

Right, but everyone--all companies--updates their phone every year. So when you release an incremental "Like last year's model, but 15% better in every way", most people kind of feel like that doesn't merit a big hullabaloo.

His team is industrial design. They don't work on OS level features.

So from his point of view, increase the screen by 173 vertical pixels.

I mean, sure, he redesigned the case exterior, and it's gorgeous, and he had a few more chips to cram in. But that doesn't seem like any more effort than, you know, an industrial designer usually has to do?
