Not the colors, the design:

Take the current nano. Stretch it so it has a longer screen.

So, am i wrong in thinking the price point for the iPod Touch nearly defeats the purpose of even having an iPad mini in the first place?
I think we've been had.

Who uses cases? Most I know don't. (Not that I'd want one in any color other than black or white, but I thought people were beyond hiding their phones in cases by now.)

I'm sure it varies, but from my experience probably 75% of the people I know use cases, and the ones that don't, their phones were paid for my work.

Would need to know how much RAM the 5th gen Touch has before I get interested. Got burned by my 4th gen that I'm still using (it has 256mb iirc).

Thats the flow for every announcement.

4S users dont really need 5, 4 users didnt really need 4S but need 5. 3GS users dont need 4 but need 4S and so on
So basically it's a 2 year cycle, like the Windows cycle...

Last iPhone I had was a 3GS, so I definitely need the upgrade. Moving from a Galaxy S2 back to the iPhone. Can't wait.

Fucking Apple. Completely fucked up the Nano line and then they remove the Classic line. Guess I'm going to buy a Classic before they run out of stock. Ugh.

New phone is fairly underwhelming but iPhone 4 is so fucking slow that I can't wait to replace it.

I'm actually fine with my iPhone 4. When I had the 3G I couldn't wait to upgrade and pre-ordered the moment I could because of how slow the 3G was running, but right now the 4 works perfectly fine for me. I don't have these crash problems you mention.

Therefore right now I'm uncertain if I should upgrade or not...

Err.. for those making snarky remarks about the new nano copying the Lumia, let me jog your memory to the 4th gen Nano. They basically replaced the scroll wheel with the home button. When the Lumia 1st came out EVERYONE was comparing it to the nano design wise.

Those iPod touch prices are gross and I don't know where this leaves the iPad mini. Already thinking that I might go with a Nexus 7 if a 16GB iPad mini costs more than 300 bones.

Well, everyone has been saying it was October.

I don't see the place for it with these prices on the iPod Touch. $299 for the 32GB version, the iPad 2 is $399 and the iPad Retina is $499. The old iPod Touch is $199 for a 16GB - where do they fit in a logically priced Mini iPad?

They have conceded that market to Amazon/Google.

I'm actually quite happy with the new iPods. The new iPod Touch is undoubtedly the best version ever, and the biggest leap for the line since.. well, ever. New Nano is very cute, and more usable than the watch.

The colours are great, but there has still been a MASSIVE jump backwards in terms of storage. Massive. I would have jumped at some small updates to the classic, but it looks like its going to be killed :(

Its not the biggest leap in the line though. At all, these are just updates. With colours.
