Problem is the only way I can justify buying a 5 is by selling my 4, so I'm worried I'm going to be left stranded without a SIM for days or weeks during the transition

You can, some stores have sim cutters (like staplers). But I don't think they have that yet for nano sims yet..

You can just cut it but you also need to sand it a bit because nano-SIM is slighty thinner.

Apple.ca says the iPad starts at $299 but I don't see any brand new $299 iPad and the iPad 2 is still $419 (Canadian Price) to start. Could they have accidentally the iPad Mini price?

I want a new phone so these new iPhones are looking good. Also, I need a new iPod Touch since mine is only 8Gb and can't hold my library. I doubt there will be any new colors though.

iPad mini is extremely unlikely. People would probably go for that over an iPod touch, rendering it useless. Plus the iPad is the perfect size, anything smaller would be an annoyance.

This tends to happen with the sexier devices that use varying materials and textures that are difficult to single out properly.

Lighting, refractions and angles play a big part in how the anodized aluminum appears, especially.

Putting the headphone jack on the bottom is actually 1 of the only things I thought Apple did well. That and LTE, but LTE was obvious. God if they came out with this phone without LTE, there would be too many lulz from today to the iPhone 5S.

It's crazy that seeing the new iPod touch in black made me go check my Lumia 900's settings to see if it had internet sharing for the first time. Since I just got it, there was no way I was gonna be paying another upgrade fee for an iPhone 5. Now I know I can have LTE internet everywhere on an iPod touch, the new one in black is pretty much just a thinner and equally good looking iPhone 5, but for $300. Chamfered edge and all.

I think the Maps App in general is going to have its dick deep in the heart of Australia. Hope you can still download Google Maps in iOS 6. They need truly international options at this point, no excuse for a US centric focus.

There is a U.S. centric focus because it takes time to build a map program. This is Apple's first foray into that department so there will be some speed bumps along the way. But I would be surprised if Google Maps isn't available in the App Store next week.

They lost me as a potential customer. The day they announced their new plans and I saw the pricing, I decided that I was going to stick with AT&T for better or worse.
